 Terminus announces guests of honor
CHICAGO, IL -- March 19, 2008 -- The planning team for Terminus has announced Guests of Honor Cheryl Klein and Tamora Pierce, who will present keynotes on their unique experiences with the Harry Potter series and phenomenon. "Tamora Pierce has written some of our favorite books, and Cheryl Klein has edited some of our favorites," noted Hallie Tibbetts, a Lead Event Organizer. "They both have a wealth of knowledge on what's made the Harry Potter series so memorable as well as its impact on the publishing industry." The keynotes will be held at the Hilton Chicago Hotel, where Terminus will take place August 7-11, 2008.
Cheryl Klein, Senior Editor at Arthur A. Levine Books (an imprint of Scholastic, Inc.) and the U.S. continuity editor for the Harry Potter series, will present a keynote address on characterization, narrative voice, plot construction, and theme in the Harry Potter novels. The keynote, "Potter Past: Lessons from the Harry Potter Series," will take place on Friday, August 8.
Tamora Pierce, an accomplished young adult fantasy author of books (including the Circle, Terrier, and Trickster series) will present a keynote address on how the publication of the Harry Potter novels has changed the production and publication of fantasy works. The keynote, "Potter Future: The Changing Face of Fantasy Literature," will take place on Sunday, August 10.
These presentations each require an additional-cost ticket, which includes a full meal.
