Video: J.K. Rowling talks about Robbie Coltrane

The South Bank Show on ITV last night featured an interview with Robbie Coltrane, who plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies, and included clips of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and friend Emma Thompson, who played Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, talking about Robbie, and a few short clips from the Harry Potter films.

Thanks to Jess over at www.hpsorcery.co.uk, we have a video clip of a few minutes of the show.

South Bank Show Robbie Coltrane interview

In the interview, Robbie remarks that he likes the fan's attention, but he thinks it's odd, because he's never really sure what they want from him.

In her part of the clip, J.K. says that when they came to the point there was even a possibility of Hagrid being on screen, she immediately thought, "Well, that's Robbie Coltrane."

On Hagrid and how Robbie was the right choice to play him, J.K. said, "For Harry, Ron and Hermione, he's benign, but he's supposed to be quite intimidating towards the people who don't maybe appreciate his particular taste in creatures."
