Verified: Dan Radcliffe not appearing at Queen's Birthday party

by Page of DanRadcliffe.co.uk

Earlier today, we received valid, pertinent information regarding Harry Potter star Dan Radcliffe with respect to his "reported" attendance at the Queen's Birthday party on 25th June. While we respect other media outlets & what they report, we can categorically state that he will not be appearing during the celebration at Buckingham Palace and hope that other outlets cease reporting his attendance so as to not mislead his fans.

We had laid the rumor to rest on several occasions, both on 17th April, and 1st February. He has had a holiday planned for several months now (a well earned break, and first holiday this year) which had always prevented his attendance. He will also be sitting his AS-Level exams and production of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been temporarily shut down to allow the young actors to sit and study their exams. Filming will resume in mid-July.

The confusion arose from a press release which announced the celebration and it included a quote by JK Rowling who originally said that, "both she and Harry will be delighted to attend." The message was misinterpreted by the media to mean that (Harry) Daniel Radcliffe would be attending when in fact, she was referring to the literary character himself. Ever since the original announcement was made in February, speculation has continued to suggest that Dan might attend when in fact, he was never able to attend due to other commitments.
