Fan website announces fundraiser for Dan's 17th Birthday
Harry Potter fan website DanRadcliffe.co.uk is proud to announce "Kaleidoscope for Kids", their 2006 Demelza House Children's Hospice Fundraiser in honor of Dan's 17th Birthday! Each year, DanRadcliffe.co.uk relays Dan's message, in that he would prefer Harry Potter fans donate to Demelza House in lieu of sending him gifts. He says he simply has no room for additional gifts. Therefore, DanRadcliffe.co.uk has continued to strive for creative, and innovative ideas to keep fans encouraged and motivated, but at the same time, make it fun for all!
This year, DanRadcliffe.co.uk has decided to make a woven kaleidoscope! Page of DanRadcliffe.co.uk says she personally saw one of these hanging in a Church she visited last summer, and was absolutely astounded by it's presence. She knew I'd love to have fans create one.
Page says she found myself standing before it reading, observing the colors, and thinking about how many "life" experiences, and wisdom was woven into the kaleidoscope itself. This prompted her to "survey" readers of her site for some additional information during Christmas regarding their involvement and thoughts regarding what "charity" means to them. It was her interest and intent to begin building the kaleidoscope during this fundraiser, imagine how many different fans of different ethnicities, cultures, and ages will go into creating this "presentation" of livelihood which share at least one common thread, donating to Demelza House!
The concept is very simple: you make a donation, send me a copy of your email confirmation from Demelza and/or your World Pay Receipt Email, then you go to the DanRadcliffe.co.uk special fundraiser page, and fill out a small form on the right side of the page which allows you to pick up to four different "weave" shapes, and four different colors. It is your choice as to what you pick, all they ask in return is a donation to Demelza House. The woven kaleidoscope will be built digitally and graphically online using the shapes and colors picked by fans. They will also be placing additional messages, names, and countries upon the woven strips for a personal fan touch.
There are several ways fans can donate, and two convenient online methods. One is the Official Fundraising Page on DanRadcliffe.co.uk, where you can leave a special message if you wish. You may also donate anonymously there as well. Demelza House pays "Just Giving" a small fee, but they assured Page that 100% of fan donations does directly to them. You can also donate directly to Demelza House.
If you would like to make a donation to Demelza House Children's Hospice directly with Demelza House, please make sure to choose Daniel Radcliffe in the drop down Source box. And write c/o DanRadcliffe.co.uk in the field marked "postal address". This will help us to keep track of all
the donations made in Dan's name.
