Announced as a possibility late last year, it's now been confirmed that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be making an appearance on the hit BBC TV show Extras, which also shows in the US on the HBO cable network.

In Extras, Ricky Gervais stars as Andy Millman, a frustrated Englishman in his 40s who gives up his day job to pursue acting, only to find all he can get is work as an extra. As Andy moves from gig to gig, each episode features a different film set, as well as guest appearances by well-known actors playing themselves. Past celebrities on the show have included Kate Winslet and Patrick Stewart.

About his appearance in Extras, Dan says, "I'm so excited that the night after I got the call I didn't sleep a wink. I know nothing about what I'm going to do but it's a great opportunity to do something different."
