Billy Boyd to sing with Rings Symphony
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jon Mauceri, has announced a unique collaboration for the special performance of "The Lord of the Rings Symphony" on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Choir, with the addition of special guest vocalists, proudly announced that Billy Boyd, the Glasgow, Scotland actor who portrayed Pippin the Hobbit in The Lord of the Rings films, will re-create his vocal performance from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, live with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for these special performances.
In addition, Boyd will attend the pre-concert dinners and the post-concert receptions each night.
Concert tickets are available in 3 tiers, and tickets for a special pre-concert dinner Friday and Saturday are $65. Those who have gold circle tickets for these performances automatically get passes for the post-concert receptions.
A portion of the proceeds from the dinner benefit the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is excited about the opportunity to bring this special experience to Pittsburgh, and are honored that Billy Boyd, an accomplished vocal performer, has agreed to join them in this extraordinary opportunity.
