J.K. Rowling to launch Half-Blood Prince at Edinburgh Castle
by David Haber, Wizard News Wizard
On her official web site this morning, J.K. Rowling announced that she will launch the sixth Potter book with an exclusive reading at Edinburgh Castle.
J.K. will read from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in the great hall of the castle minutes after midnight on Saturday July 16.

The event will be broadcast on television and radio stations around the world.
In addition, 70 junior reporters, aged between eight and 16, will be invited to the event. Selected English-speaking newspapers from around the world, including papers in Britain, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, will run competitions to find the lucky young journalists. In addition, representatives of two Harry Potter fan web sites, The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet, will also be in attendance.
The cub reporters will meet J.K. Rowling after her reading, and be presented with a signed copy of the book. Later on Sunday, the reporters will get to ask J.K. questions about the book at a special children's press conference.
The selected newspapers will run competitions from May 14, and bookshops and libraries in the Republic of Ireland will also run them. Another competition will be on publisher Bloombury's website.
