Fan website The Leaky Cauldron is claiming this evening that they have a very trusted source that says that actress Miranda Richardson will play venomous reporter Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which has recently started filming.

The website goes on to say that since it's already late on Friday, they don't expect official confirmation until after the weekend, but they trust the information nonetheless.

Miranda Richardson has just completed the film version of the musical, The Phantom of the Opera. She's been in many TV shows and movies, including Sleepy Hollow in 1999, which also starred Sir Michael Gambon. She currently lives in London.

No official word from Warner Bros. has been issued on this casting information yet. Stay tuned for further details.
