Chris Rankin says Sorcerers Stone Director's Cut is planned

WIZARD NEWS EXCLUSIVE!

[with info from BBC Norfolk]

In a chat today on BBC Norfolk, Chris Rankin, who plays Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films, let it slip that an extended edition of at least the first Harry Potter film is possibly in the works.

In answer to the question, "What's the longest time you've ever spent shooting a scene," Chris replied:

"The longest scene I've ever shot was on this first film. It was the scene with Peeves the Poltergeist. We shot it in Gloucester Cathedral cloisters.

"Sadly it never made it to the final take although I hear Chris Columbus is going to be making a director's cut. In which it will be reinstated."

This is the first mention we've heard anywhere that a longer, extended edition of any of the Harry Potter movies is in the works, welcome news to many Harry Potter fans!

In addition, it seems this new extended edition will even contain extra scenes not included in the extras on the original DVD, as no scenes with Peeves the poltergeist have ever been seen anywhere. ©
