LORD OF THE RINGS star ORLANDO BLOOM was inspired to become an actor by '80s TV hits THE A-TEAM and KNIGHT RIDER.

While many of his counterparts cite theatrical productions or grand epics as the reason behind their career choice - 26-year-old Bloom confesses the action shows of his childhood were responsible for his acting ambitions.

He says, "When I realised the heroes on The A-Team and Knight Rider weren't real, I decided I wanted to act because I thought, 'I'd love to be any number of those guys."
