Aussie soap opera star Michelle Ang says she's not Cho Chang

[from New Zealand Stuff]

Australian soap opera Neighbour's star, Kiwi actress Michelle Ang, has arrived back in Ramsay St and has quickly put paid to a couple of rumours about her.

The first rumour doing the rounds was that the Neighbours star had auditioned for the role of Harry Potter's love interest, Cho Chang, in the next Harry Potter movie.

Not true, Michelle said.

"I can't say anything because nothing has happened," she said.

"I wish it had and all the publicity was real and not just exciting rumours. If anybody offered me a Harry Potter job, I would definitely take it."

The other rumour - that she had scored a record contract - spread after she was spotted leaving a recording studio.

But Michelle told me she was just recording voiceovers for an upcoming movie and won't be releasing a CD any time soon.

Michelle, 20, left Australia - and Neighbours - 11 months ago to head back here to finish her double degree in chemistry and commercial law.

But now she's back on the Aussie soap to tie up some loose ends with her character, Lori Lee.

"It's been awesome," she said.
