Thanks to the readers of the Leaky Cauldron who pointed out that the last paragraph of the recent Mike Newell appointed as Goblet of Fire director announcement contained some information which which seems to disprove an earler rumor, that the book Goblet of Fire was so big that it would need to be two movies:

Afraid of alienating die-hard Muggles by cutting scenes, the studio and scribe initially had talked about breaking the book into two separate films to be released in the same calendar year, à la The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, but Warners has now opted for a single movie.

This is disappointing, our thinking was, the more movie they make, the less gets left out. But Steve Kloves has done a pretty good job in the past with the first two movies so we'll just have to wait and see. Watch for further news on this, they could still change their minds on this plan.
