Harry Potter V German-language translation appears on 8 November 2003

[from www.carlsenpresse.de, translated by altavista and corrected by Dave Haber]

Finally it is clear when waiting will come to an end for the German-language translation of the fifth Harry Potter volume: Saturday, 8.11.2003.

The translation of the manuscript will be done by Klaus Fritz, who already translated the first four books into German. The cover of volume V will again be illustrated by Hamburg artist Sabine Wilharm, who's given this country an unmistakable face to the magician's apprentice.

Volume V will be the longest of all past Harry Potter books: The manuscript is around a third longer than that of the fourth volume "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". The German-language translation of volume V will be longer too, at over 1000 pages. The sale price will be 28,50 (D) / 29,30 (A) / 47,90 sFr.

So far altogether 15.5 million copies have been sold of the four volumes of the German-language Harry Potter translations. World-wide the number of copies sold amounts to approximately 195 million. The books have been translated so far into 55 languages.
