New casting news for final Harry Potter film
Thanks to Harry Potter fan site Snitchseeker, we now know the name of the young actor who was chosen to portray an interesting role in an important scene in the final installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Potter fans seem to think he does look very much the part. Deathly Hallows Part II will be in theaters one year from now, July 15, 2011.

Peter Jackson
Peter Jackson might direct The Hobbit after all
Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is in negotiations to officially take over directing duties on the long-delayed, two-part adaptation of The Hobbit. Jackson is reportedly now hammering out his deal, according to Deadline.com, before meeting with potential cast members in London and Los Angeles during the first two weeks of July.

Daniele Radcliffe helped Jason Isaacs create wizard look
Jason Isaacs says Dan Radcliffe helped convinced director Chris Columbus to approve Jason's ideas for Lucius Malfoy. He told Columbus, "I want to look like a wizard... can I have a cane or walking stick, I can get the wand out of it, and they said, We can't do that, wands come out of people's sleeves. Daniel, who was standing there, said, I think it'd be really cool!"

Fans excited once finally inside Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Hardcore theme park and Harry Potter fans made it into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter after many hours of long lines through Islands of Adventure and CityWalk. The long lines continued the day after. It may be a while before it's an easy walk into Hogsmeade. The park opened at 9 am, fans began arriving at 5:30.

Daniel Radcliffe at opening day in Orlando
Daniel Radcliffe was on-hand yesterday, as well as many of his Harry Potter co-stars, for the opening day of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You can view photos of Dan at yesterday's festivities, Daniel walking through Hogsmeade, as well as riding Flight of the Hippogriff along with some younger fans, and video of Dan at the opening ceremony.

Emma Watson throws Potter farewell cast party
Emma Watson hosted a dinner at her British home to mark the final week of shooting last Harry Potter movies, but guests are remaining tight-lipped on the secrets they revealed as they reminisced. James Phelps said, "We spoke about the best moments of filming, our secret crushes on set. But all the answers to these questions will stay in that room!"

Tom Felton wanted co-stars to get Harry Potter tattoo
Tom Felton has revealed he tried to get the Harry Potter cast to have the boy wizard's lightning bolt tattooed on their bottoms, so that he and his fellow actors could have a lasting memento of their time on set. He said, "I did try and talk them into it. I thought it was a nice idea. We talked about it but all wimped out."

Rupert Grint film Wild Target opens today in the UK
Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy and Martin Freeman star in new comedy Wild Target, a British remake of a French farce about an assassin who falls for his latest hit, and tries to protect her instead. Nighy has worked with Grint before, playing Rufus Scrimgeour in the final Harry Potter film. Wild Target opens today in the UK and in North America on October 8.

The park's creators have invented a huge array of of new stuff to buy, most of which springs straight from the series of books by author J.K. Rowling.

Video: Art director on recreating Harry Potter's world
Harry Potter World has had its grand opening in Florida, after five years of planning and construction. The park gives fans a chance to experience life in the village of Hogsmeade, with everything from butterbeer to ear wax-flavoured jelly beans. Crowds, stars at Harry Potter park opening in Orlando
Daniel Radcliffe and other stars from the Harry Potter movies greeted visitors Friday at the official grand opening of Universal Orlando's new minipark, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Also on hand were Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, James and Oliver Phelps and Sir Michael Gambon. Dan said, "It really is incredible."

On the ride, you encounter a dragon on the attack, the Whomping Willow tree, and some pretty scary Dementors. At the end, you join Harry in a death-defying, speed-of-light Quidditch game.

That's A Wrap! Harry Potter filming ended today
According to the Twitter account of Warwick Davis, who played both Flitwick and Griphook in the films, the final day of principle photography for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows took place today, Saturday, June 12th. Davis tweeted, "The end of an Era. I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time."

Harry Potter celebrities rumored to attend Wizarding World opening
Nothing official has been announced, but rumors are spreading about which stars from the Harry Potter films will be at the Wizard World grand opening next Friday. Central Florida on Demand is reporting that Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliff and James and Oliver Phelps are coming, and rupert-grint.us is reporting Rupert Grint and Tom Felton will be here.

Girl flees war-torn Sierra Leone and ends up in Hogwarts
19 year old Margortu Margai plays a Hogwarts pupil in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1. It is only a bit part, but still a far cry from her early years spent hiding from marauding soldiers in her hometown. She said, "It's so surreal. I've read all the books and seen all the Harry Potter films but I'm still trying to believe I've got a role in the film."

Rock out to Harry Potter in Oshawa next week
Fans of the Harry Potter books are invited to rock out on June 16, when some unique musical acts visit the OshawaPublic Library in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Wizard Rock acts the Whomping Willows, the Moaning Myrtles, Justin Finch-Fletchley and the Nifflers will be performing a free concert for youth ages 11 and up.

Last week, Guillermo Del Toro resigned as director of the two Hobbit movies. To fill the spot, Kenneth Branagh may be the obvious solution that so far everyone has missed. Daniel Radcliffe to present at Tony Awards this Sunday
Daniel Radcliffe is scheduled to be a presenter at the 2010 Tony Awards. He will appear alongside Katie Holmes to present the award for the Best Featured Actress at the annual award ceremony for the best of theater. Radcliffe is set to return to the Broadway stage next spring in a revival of the classic "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."

Producer says Deathly Hallows split has been decided
Harry Potter producer David Heyman has announced that the point the final two movies will be split has been decided upon, but would not confirm details of the scene chosen to end Harry Potter and rhe Deathly Hallows: Part One. He said, "It will be incredibly dramatic, very moving and make people want to watch the next film."

Rupert Grint on target for life after Potter
Rupert Grint filmed his next film, Wild Target, in London and the Isle of Man in 2008 during a "rare break" after the sixth film in the series, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince. In the action comedy caper, which also stars Bill Nighy who is also in the final Potter film, Grint gets to swap his magic wand for a gun, as an apprentice hitman.

Tom Felton says end of Harry Potter filming hasn't sunk in
Tom Felton says it "hasn't sunk in yet" that the cast has finished making the Harry Potter movies. Tom said his last day of shooting for the final films hadn't been sad but instead was "weird". But he said when the final film comes out in 2011, the cast are set to have the mother of all celebrations. He also plans on being first in line for Harry Potter World in Orlando next weekend.

Should the Harry Potter theme park have been built in England?
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open in Orlando on June 18, but not everyone is excited about it. The mayor of London, Boris Johnson, wrote a scalding article in the Telegraph explaining why he "deeply resents" that the park was built in America, and not J.K. Rowling's homeland.

In Pictures: The first Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer
The trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows - Part 1 was premiered last night at the MTV Movie Awards where 22-year-old Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the films, won the award for Best Villain. Speaking about his win, he said to MTV News, "Very exciting! The most surreal moment of my life."

After appearing for the first time last night on the broadcast of the MTV Movie Awards, the first trailer for Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows - Part 1 is now available to view on the internet. Tom Felton's real-life girlfriend appears in final Harry Potter movie
Tom Felton, who won Best Villian at the MTV Movie Awards, has mixed his personal and professional lives on the set of the Harry films as his real-life girlfriend was added to the cast. Tom said, "The producers actually came to me about six months ago and asked me (if she'd be interested). She was slightly reluctant, but I pulled her arm and twisted it."

Britain's top television awards were presented in London on Sunday. The Best Actor award was given to Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter) for his Scandinavian detective series Wallander. The all-star awards ceremony also recognized actress Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) who received the Best Actress prize for the political biopic Mo.

Harry Potter's success in Orlando could lead to more parks
As Universal Orlando prepares for the formal opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the resort isn't the only one with a lot riding on the project. The success of Wizarding World will likely determine whether Harry Potter is extended to other theme parks in the U.S. or around the globe.

New Harry Potter game, like the next movie, is all grown up
Electronic Arts is giving the world a glimpse of the latest Harry Potter game – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Due to be released in tandem with the film which is hitting theaters this fall, this game is definitely on the grown up side. Unlike previous Harry games, this is something more akin to a third person shooter.
