Harry Potter actors in the news
According to Contact Music, Miriam Margolyes, who plays professor Sprout in the Harry Potter movies, has said that it would be hard to find someone to play her in a bio-pic.
Margolyes said, "I don't know that there's anybody that can play me. I've never met anybody who's as fat or as clever. Maybe Cate Blanchett in a fat suit."
Ralph Fiennes, Miriam Margolyes and Fiona Shaw
In the meantime, Tony Award-winning History Boys director Nicholas Hytner, the artistic director of the National Theatre, announced at a press conference that Ralph Fiennes and Fiona Shaw will have a part in the theatre's future productions.
Tony Award-winner Ralph Fiennes will headline Oedipus, which will play a national tour after its London run. Fiennes' other theatre credits include Hamlet, while his many films include Voldemort in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, The English Patient, Quiz Show, and Schindler's List.
Fiona Shaw, who plays Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter movies, a Tony Award-nominee for Medea and is considered a preeminent London stage actress, will star in Samuel Beckett's Happy Days. The show will be directed by Shaw's frequent collaborator Deborah Warner.
