Who is R.A.B. and where is Slytherin's Locket?

by David Haber

In the dramatic climax of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore and Harry recover a locket from Voldemort's secret cave. Only after Dumbledore "dies" does Harry open the locket and find the note from R.A.B. But who is R.A.B., and where is the locket now?

A Phoenix , when his master . So, if DD is , Fawkes is too. I dont believe that DD isnt , but that his has a greater reason as we can see at the moment.

Further, I think R.A.B. is either Sirius brother Regulus, or it is a name like "Half Blood Prince" and if it is so, everyone that we know (cause JKR said that there be no new character)could be R.A.B.!

Guys I think that RAB is Bertram Aubrey. He is the guy mentioned in HBP Pg 497 in my book:P. While Harry is looking after the crime record sheet he comes across this name and whats more interesting is that this guy has done something to annoy James And Sirius and so they hex him. Maybe he must be in slytherin at that time and becomes a eater later and somehow is not satisfied with the dark lord and hence must have removed the horcrux. Give it a thought.

What if the "who is R.A.B." question turns out to be the mother of all red herrings in the series. Book 7 comes and goes and after it's all over not only doesn't the mistery ever get solved, but it doesn't even play an important role in the last book. J.K. set it up so nicely at the end of book 6 that she would know that every H.P. fan would be guessing who the wizard/witch might be.

Hope I'm way off on this one though.

Here's another candidate for a Hogwarts horcrux; Tom Riddle's award for special services to the school.

I think these guys are right about the green coloured potion being The Draught Of Living . Because when dumbledore drinks this potion it is written that he looks like he is in deep sleep and even snape tells that this potion causes sleep which is very dangerous.

Snape can do silent curses. What if he said the Avada words but did a different curse (so that he would get away with breaking an unbreakable vow)? Dumbledore was so weakened, however, that he fell and d "accidentally"

Guys, I think you are reading too far into RAB. I cant see Rowling pulling out a random name from the wizarding world and making it a huge event. Its prbably someone relevant, a main character. I agree it could be a title, not a direct name

Kevin

What makes you think that ing a living Horcrux would end it's usefulness as a Horcrux? It might be how the whole process of rebirth jumpstarts! Harry s and splits his soul and uses the current incarnation of Riddle, Jr. as HIS Horcrux. Then when Voldy s and Harry is reborn, Phoenix style! When Harry s, Voldy is reborn.

That would make the final conflict of the series very long. Both competitors might end up of extreme old age and crankiness.

I still have no ideas on the Snape Horcrux (if he really ed Dumbledore) except for the Locket and Snape chose to use it as a method to preserve a part of himself from the inevitable results of Severis' upcoming betrayal of Voldemort.

It just struck me RAB = Rythym and Blues! Thats what Riddle and the eaters played on the piano in the Shreaking Shack! Rock ON!

If you're so intent on Riddle and the Eaters(the ULTIMATE ROCK BAND!), maybe you could fit in Stubby Boardman a.k.a. Regulus Black a.k.a RAB. He WAS a musician after all. the Quibbler may have something going there

Joyeeta. No....Stubby Boardman is NOT Regulus Black. Jo said so on her Website. You can find it in her RUMOUR section and it has already been said on this Site.

IF R.A.B. is indeed Regulus Black, and hiding out as a Musician, please go back to page TEN on "Who is R.A.B. and where is Slytherin's Locket" and you find that we already have discussed this and came to the same conclusion.

Stubby Boardman could of course still be R.A.B. providing that "Stubby" is a nickname and he isn't a disguised Goblin and fearful of the turnips still in the hands of his fan base. Warning: most of my posts are intended as jokes and thought points to generate discussion. Don't take them too seriously!

The person R.A.B would have to be a formidible wizard/witch. Doesn't sound like Regulus Black to me. The person went with another - it takes two people. The other could have been an animagus. Didn't Sirius say that the Dementers could not detect him in his animagus form. Maybe the young Voldemort didn't think of detecting the power on wizards in their animagus form.
