The power The Dark Lord knows not

by David Haber

It all comes down to this. The big difference between Voldemort and Harry. The only difference that's really important. It couldn't be more important to the climax of the Harry Potter Septology Mystery. And the reason we know it's important is because J.K. Rowling went out of her way to tell us about it, right out, in plain language, not couched in a riddle, in the very first Harry Potter book.

Superb article. It made me choke on my waffle in fits of hysterics.

I agree. Voldemort , in the end, succumb to the power of love.

I doubt a bear hug solve anything, but I suppose Harry find it in him to pity and perhaps forgive Voldy.

And there is where his love lies.

What about the fact that in the OotP, when Harry was possessed by Voldemort, when he thought of sirius, Voldemort left him immediately... this is the greatest proof because words has a different meanings sometimes...

i agree with the fact that love is definitely going to be important in DH but i think the idea of harry beating voldemort by hugging/loving HIM is a bit ludicrous.

I don't know if anyone pointed this out yet, but if Rowling did use this as the plot, it would be totally stolen from "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine D'Engle..."you have something that It does not", if anyone remembers the Dark Thing being destroyed by love.

Love have a very important role in Voldy's downfall, but don't worry- there be a good fight.

I think that it is love. But now that the blood of Harry runs in the Dark Lord that there be some point in time that the Dark Lord love and himself. Though i truely doubt it. I still think that he has some of Harry's personality deep down inside of him.

what if snape loved lily so much that he cannot betray her even after her ...so he has to help keep harry alive...
snape gave vol the info that made him choose to lily which is why he came back to the good side and risks his life to spy...

I think the fact that Harry can love is really important because the love that he feels for his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore, and everyone that has been hurt by Voldemort is the thing that cause him to finish Voldemort off. Like Dumbledore said in OOTP, he not be able to rest with Voldemort still alive because he'd want revenge. Love is the thing that's keeping Harry on the right side rather than the dark side. I think the room of love in the Ministry of Magic might open somehow, and Voldemort might be pushed into it. Maybe the door open because Harry would want to use it for the right reasons.

I just think it's interesting that it is indeed Harry's love of playing the hero that s (indirectly, at least) Sirius, which in turn causes Harry to feel more love than ever (even if it is in the form of pain).

Well back to the whole Harry uses love on Voldemort thing, i mean, i dont think he would just go up to him and hug him and say "i love you," but maybe it's possible that he performes an act of love in front of him. Or he says something about Voldemorts past, his mother, something that has to do with love, but is sad... Like telling Voldemort " I know it's probably hard for you because of all that you have gone through, and telling refreshing VOldemorts brain with Merope's past, and his father Tom Riddle. I know it seems impossible, but maybe, just maybe he sort of talks Voldemort into being... well....GOOD?! Who knows, but maybe after Harry has destroyed the horcrux's of Voldemort, then when Voldemort has only one soul left, he actually starts feeling REALLY guilty for all he's done, and the people he s comes back to life?

OOO- i like the theory about Snape secretly admiring and crushing on Lily... Maybe that's why he hated James soo much? But also i think its when Harry and Voldemort are in a battle, and when Voldemort is going to ...Is when Harry tell a heart-warming speach about what i said before? Oh my gosh- look how much a thought from J.K Rowlings head, can affect us! I dont know about you, but its making me go mad!

Voldemort says to Dumbledore that he's found no proof that love is more powerful than the dark arts (when he comes back to Hogwarts to ask for the DADA job again in HBP). Dumbledore says it is because Voldemort hasn't been looking in the right places. What if Voldemort is confronted with absolute proof by Harry, perhaps through the power Harry has because of his ability to love, that he (Voldemort) has got it wrong and love truely is the greatest power. Would this not destroy Voldemort? It would negate everything he has lived for...
