The next Harry Potter: Back to the future or the past?

The Harry Potter books are done. Should J.K. Rowling write some new books that also involve the world of Harry Potter? Or, in the words of the Beatles, should she Let It Be?

And if she does write some new books about Harry's magical world, what should they be about? Would you like to read books about Albus Severus Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts? Or would you like to know more about the times of James, Sirius and Remus? How about going all the way back to the time of Dumbledore and Grindelwald? Or even further?

It's fun to read fan fiction ideas for these things, but would you like official books from J.K. about these stories? What would you like to see in the J.K. Rowlings's next "Harry Potter" book?

JKR admitted that she may wright another HP book but it would be at least 10 years before she did so. AS far as should she do the past or present I think both would be good. Maybe a book of short stories with most of the ideas I have read on here so far. Who knows maybe one of JKR's kids take up the task one day.

Last book was so....bad...I think that she should write last book (part 7) for the second time.

The first necessity for a new book is to tell a story, JKR knows it and never write a new book without a new story, and the story of Harry Potter was so strong that it is very difficult to be in confront with it.
Better no prequel or sequel if there is not a new strong story.

the last book was amazing but she cant really continue with the same characters, here's the list of those that d in the last book in no particular order:

Grindelwald
tonks
lupin
colin creevy
crabbe
bellatrix
ted tonks
dirk cresswell
gornuk
dobby
voldermort
hedwig
gregorovitch
the muggle stus teacher
fred
peter pettigrew
mad-eye moody
snape
scrimegour
a family abroad when voldermort is searching for the elder wand
if u want to count it harry s n comes bak.
many unnamed eaters
i think that percy may have ed rookwood as i think it was him who caused fred's .

too many d for another book on harry. I hope that there are more books though and got the list right

Ok first off: Dirk Cresswell was not ed, just sent to Azkaban and you forgot some Dennis Creevy.

I think they should do both(future anbd past), going to the past would explain why Snape acctuly loved Lily and going to the future would explain wether any DA members became teachers and wether Albus-Severus Potter inherrited James Potter the 1st and Harry Potter's dare-devilness.

I think it would be good to have another book, but maybe on Voldemort's (curse the name!) childhood, and why he decided to "take over the world and go around ing everyone."

It's probably because he wanted to be immortal though.

One thing I would LOVE to read is the Bellatrix Lestrange story, start to finish. That way all the Bella/Voldy shippers could truly know all the things that happened between them and all of her, maybe his (if he has any),feelings. I would also like to see all the family trees which J.K. has down in rough. Also, as Sarah said, a book on Voldemort's life. I would also like to read Harry's school books, like what she did with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. Maybe even a book saying all the secrets of Hogwarts. eg. Chamber of Secrets. However, I would still love to read the Encyclopedia of everything that J.K. mentioned.

Yeah, it would be cool to read some more stuff. I mean, it's up to JK weather she wants to write more or not, and i don't think people should pressure her one way or the other. But yeah, there are certainly more stories to tell, and if she wanted to write them they could be really great! Marauders time would be interesting, as would young Dumbledore. or the time of the beginnings of the order of the phoenix. Though i don't think she should go into the future. Stick with the villains already introduced. Unless one of them somehow came back in the future, but that's already happened once. It's up to her.

Dirk Cresswell did , along with Ted Tonks and one of the goblins traveling with them, Dean, and Griphook. We don't know if Dennis Creevey d, or even if he was at the battle of Hogwarts.

I've always wondered if Reg and Mary Cattermole got away after they were cornered at the Ministry. And if Lavender d or became a werewolfess.

The one thing i can't understand is that no-one is thinking of the characters that many of us shed tears of pity over. The courageous Alice and Frank Longbottom. The two people whom were not given alot of attention during the books but were certainly two of the bravest.

I love all the HARRY POTTER books I've read each at least 2 or 3 times. I would love it if JKR wrote another book about the past or future I would love to read both. I want to know all about Snape & all the others & about the kids that go to Hogwarts now. I hope that she writes more books that would be so awesome!
