The next Harry Potter: Back to the future or the past?

The Harry Potter books are done. Should J.K. Rowling write some new books that also involve the world of Harry Potter? Or, in the words of the Beatles, should she Let It Be?

And if she does write some new books about Harry's magical world, what should they be about? Would you like to read books about Albus Severus Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts? Or would you like to know more about the times of James, Sirius and Remus? How about going all the way back to the time of Dumbledore and Grindelwald? Or even further?

It's fun to read fan fiction ideas for these things, but would you like official books from J.K. about these stories? What would you like to see in the J.K. Rowlings's next "Harry Potter" book?

Oh my gosh, I would love it if J.K.Rowling continued the series! I want her to continue with Harry and Ginny's family, but I would love to find out more about James, Lily, Remus and Sirius's lives.

i would like to know:

- the biginning of hogwarts - the creation and it's founders
- harry's parents and people of that age
- SEVERUS SNAPE - enough said
- dumbledore and his plans before hogwarts, meaning even more than what rowling has told us
- the big events that took place as harry was at the dursley's
- malfoy's family

there are so many things to say, i couldn't possibly thinnk of them now! but as hannah from montana said, it's probably not going to happen. on the other hand, jk rowling has indeed invited us fans many times to write a book ourselves, about what has happened in our minds.

I think that if J.K. were to write another book it should be about Harry's kids adventures. It would be interesting to see what Hogwarts is like after Harry's time.

I agree with Kaylie Potter. JK should write a book about both sides, future and past.

At the end of the book of OoTP, Harry seeks out 'nearly Headless Nick' to ask him if it was possible that Sirius could become a ghost. Nick's reply was that only people frightened by stay behind and don't 'go on'. Any thoughts on 'Tom Riddle' adopting this form and continuing
the struggle to the next generation?

I have to guess here but I think the point is that Voldemort's tarnished soul could never have been repaired because he never felt any remorse - and then he himself destroyed what was left of it with his own rebounding curse when he tries to Harry with the Elder Wand. I think as Voldemort's soul is destroyed completely he can't exist in any form anymore - not as a ghost even, which is an "imprint of a soul left upon the earth" - as we learn from Snape.

You know how Rowling did handwritten, hand illustrated copies of some of the Tales of Beedle the Bard for very close friends? And then she sold one to raise money for charity? Amazon bought that copy and a reviewer described the book on Amazon. That's the book I really want to read. Particularly the story The Fountain of Fair Fortune sounded wonderful, sent shivers down my spine. I'm hoping that one day at least the text of these stories be available.
Check it out on Amazon. I'm sure the review would still be there.

i would love j.k. to write a book about voldemort. like what he did after he left hogwarts because doesn't dumbledore say most of his life is a mystery? it would be entising to know where he learned all of his dark magic at. and how he gathered followers at first and how he got people to fear him before he was all powerful.

I would like to read about:

- Sirius, James and Remus time at Hogwarts
- The life of Dumbledore
- Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Rawenclaw and Godric Gryffindor and about their plans to build a new Wizard School.
- More about the Weasly Family

Elizabeth from Australia,

I would LOVE to be able to get a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard! I hope she publish it eventually, even if its not handwritten, it would be a wonderful book to have.

I would love to know about James, Sirius,& Lupin. I also would like to see a book from young Tom Riddle's (a.k.a. Voldemort) point of view at Hogwarts.
