The next Harry Potter: Back to the future or the past?

The Harry Potter books are done. Should J.K. Rowling write some new books that also involve the world of Harry Potter? Or, in the words of the Beatles, should she Let It Be?

And if she does write some new books about Harry's magical world, what should they be about? Would you like to read books about Albus Severus Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts? Or would you like to know more about the times of James, Sirius and Remus? How about going all the way back to the time of Dumbledore and Grindelwald? Or even further?

It's fun to read fan fiction ideas for these things, but would you like official books from J.K. about these stories? What would you like to see in the J.K. Rowlings's next "Harry Potter" book?

As much as I would love to read more about Harry, Dumbledore and all my wizarding world friends, I think that J.K. Rowling should leave well enough alone. Going only by what Jo said in response to the lack of details in the epilogue to ly Hallows, I think that she intentionally wants to keep Harry's world vague, to encourage readers to use their own imaginations. After all, isn't that what good literature is supposed to do?

I think that if she did write more on anything of this that it would be a dictionary of things that she used in the books for those who do not understand what they are and go into a few details so that we fully understand.
To be honest I think that Harry is done. As much as that disappoints me I feel that the Harry Pottr series is done. Use your imagination.

i think that JKR should definitely publish more books about all of the above subjects. I want to know more about Harry's children's adventures, and also (painfully) i would like to know more about Albus' days and preferably set him back to the higher ranks of people in my mind, because DH left me with a vague but down graded vision of Dumbledore...I have always been completely astounded by J.K. Rowlings books, and, whichever way she points them, I'd always be glad to read them.

In my dreams there are new Harry Potter adventures to read about, but in reality I don't think there be any new stories about Harry by J.K.R.

I have also heard rumors about the HP Encyclopedia, and I look forward to its release. But it seems like an Encyclopedia read differently than the other HP books.

I am sure that other authors try to pick up the storyline with Harry's children, but it won't be the same.

If I could choose a subject for a new JKR book to be about, I would surely also pick Dumbledore's biography as many of you have mentioned. Honestly, I would read anything else JKR decided to write concerning the HP world!

Mark from Haifax,

What a great idea, I'd love to read about durmstrang or beauxbatons too. I love the mevil dress and style of things in the HP books and movies. In the back of my mind I did also wonder why JKR chose to keep the HP world in the past as far as architecture goes.

Obviously, a prequel would be ideal because everyone including myself wants to hear how james and lilly defied voldemort but also the james, lupin, sirius, peter is freakin awesome knowing what we know bout wormtail, and how he betrayed lily and james besides some of the best times in the harry potter involved them.

An idea popped in my head just now. In the books, who do we know to be afraid of (and a lot of other things)? Myrtle. She chose to be a ghost than be . Who else do we know to be afraid of ? Voldemort. He might have came back as a ghost too. A book including this might be interesting.

Do we know that Grindelwald is ? Might he come back?

Do we know that other brothers(Paverells) are ?

Although, I still want to hear about Dumbledore's youngster years.

I think that J. K. Rowlings should write more books, related to the Harry Potter series. Like with the next generation. With Harry Potter's Children. It would be awesome. I Love Severus Snape!
