The next Harry Potter: Back to the future or the past?

The Harry Potter books are done. Should J.K. Rowling write some new books that also involve the world of Harry Potter? Or, in the words of the Beatles, should she Let It Be?

And if she does write some new books about Harry's magical world, what should they be about? Would you like to read books about Albus Severus Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts? Or would you like to know more about the times of James, Sirius and Remus? How about going all the way back to the time of Dumbledore and Grindelwald? Or even further?

It's fun to read fan fiction ideas for these things, but would you like official books from J.K. about these stories? What would you like to see in the J.K. Rowlings's next "Harry Potter" book?

i would like to see her write a prequal and something about harry's children. it would be interesting if she made a new threat for them.

I think it would be really interesting to read about the life of Harrys parents: James and Lily Potter including all of their friends when they were young. We could learn about the life before harry Potter.

i would love to know more about albus dumbledore. In DH jk Rowling writes a lot about him, but i still wonder how dumbledore's life was

I think there should be more books written on hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Mainly on dumbledore and grindelwald! I think that J.K. Rowling is a fabulous writer. I have to admit that i have never read a book in my life.... that is until i picked up one of her books. Now i have read all of them in one year! I would love to read more of her books on Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry on every character.... harry, ginny, hermione, ron, dumbledore and grindelwald even on harrys past! Anyway i thank you for letting me speak my opinion and for J.K. Rowling i want you to write more books please! You are a great writer!

I would want to see a book about the four founders of Hogwarts. Reading about Dumbledore and Grindelwald's younger years would also be interesting. There is information given throughout the seven books on the marauders, but I would still like more, especially on Lily and Snape. I don't think J.K. Rowling should write about Harry anymore. His story seems finished. And I also don't think stories about his children would be as good as the originals. A new main villian would have to be introduced to have a plot. That would seem wrong to me after Voldemort.

I agree with many others to let the harry potter world be. I loved all the books, read each one numerous times. As the last 3 or 4 came out, I got and read them the first day they came out, in one sitting usually. Then read them again and again weeks later.
Now if JKR wrote another book, it would have to be about James, Sirius, Remus and that wussy Peter. But like i said above, it should .
I think if she would, her best bet would be to write short stories or an essay kind of thing about like someone mentioned, conversations and discussions of Dumbledore mainly, and other key members. Things left out. Make a series of essays or short stories and call it the Pensieve.
Last thing. One thing I didn't like is how she jumped from the last chapters, the 19 year gap. And in that last chapter she really didnt say too much besides "and they lived happily ever after." That's great, but it seemed like ALL the thought she put into the 7 novels, she just rushed to finish it and didn't give it a proper closing.

I would love for JK Rowling to continue stories within our beloved wizarding world. Not sure if this has been discussed, but there's a possibility she left hints of future novels based upon the 3 items she wrote about in the last book.. The cloak, the wand and.... ( can't remember )...Possibly some descendants try and take over with these 3 items...
My inclination though is for her to write books that include Sirius/Regulus

I would ABSOLUTELY love to see a prequel on Sirius, Remus & James. I want to see (or read) all the things that they do to Snape. I also want to see how they became unauthorized animagi and the whole story behind the "How Remus Became a Werewolf" thing. Maybe, after she should write more books on what happened to Harry's kids && Ron & Hermione's kids and their adventures at Hogwarts.

If there was another book, could it possibly be from toms point?

I have to admit my desire for Sirius and Regulus is so that i can see more of Gary Oldman in that role. And If i were a casting director, i'd absolutely cast Henry Ian Cusick as Regalus.

I hope jk does write more hp books, and no matter what they are about, i would read them. But i have to admit, i really want to know more about harry's parents and his friends. I think that would be brilliant if jk did that.
More background information on all the adult characters would be great. It would be so cool to read about the founders of hogwarts, and even a little more about voldemort.
i still would read anything written by jk, but i really hope she doesnt do anything other than hp.... im not exactly sure why, but it wouldnt be right for her to abandon harry completely.
