Severus Snape v. The Ministry of Magic
 by J.K. Rich
After reading Book Six in the Harry Potter saga, millions of Harry Potter fans were devastated to learn that after it allafter all the warnings and signsSeverus Snape is, in fact, evil. And, even more devastatinghe had killed Professor Dumbledore right in front of The Boy That Lived. Or did he?

1) She doesn't explicitly state whether it's a wrist watch or a pocket watch. However, when Dumbledore pulls out his watch in the first book, she notes that it is a pocket watch.
2) I think we must assume that unless otherwise stated, it's a wristwatch. Especially when it is owned by a teenager, which would be unusual and deserve mention
3) Rowling never states that Dumbledore is the only one who has one of these watches, and while there aren't any other references, that doesn't mean he is the only one. She does, however mention how Ron's mom is the only one with their unique clock (to her knowledge). Dumbledore's is only described as unusual, and that is in the first chapter when everything about him is 'unusual.'
4)I believe that Ron would make a bigger deal if he inherited Dumbledore's personal watch
5) some people have mentioned that in the pensieve, Dumbledore's hair is red when he was younger. It's described as auburn.
Basically, I do not believe that he is related to the Weasleys. I believe that the watch Ron got was simply unique to the wizarding world, but not so rare that Dumbledore is the only one that had one.
Then again, I've been wrong about stuff before, and she doesn't always just throw up connections between things like that all the time. Posted by Reveille from Kingston, ON on May 5, 2007 12:50 AM

From previous post:
Also we've been told that no one can escape Azkaban, yet Sirius does in book 3. So even though we are told you can not, its possible that you can, this goes for both the and beyond the veil where Sirius is now trapped.

It was BELIEVED that you could not escape by many people. But only by those that had complete confidence in the Dementors. Dumbledore never trusted them and believed that they should be removed as guards. While I'm sure that he did not think it likely that Sirius could break out while Azkaban was still under their control (I can't actually recall him actually saying it's impossible), he no doubt didn't believe that anyone there was guarenteed not to get out while the Dementors were in charge.
It is a true sign of wisdom not to admit that you know everything, and that things are certain. Those in the books who claim that no one can break out are not very wise, and their opinion does not count for much. I feel that if Dumbledore and the other members of the Order know what that veil is and say he isn't coming back then he isn't.
There is even a small chance that they think it's possible, but they would never tell Harry that for fear of getting his hopes up. Posted by reveille from Kingston, ON on May 5, 2007 12:56 AM
I did vioce this theory Just after the book came out! I beleive it is true its the only hope dumbledore fans have! Posted by Natalie from Bromsgrove on May 5, 2007 2:35 PM
Some possibilities:
In support of the Phoenix theory...Harry's father could transform into a stag; therefore, it's possible that Dumbledore could transform into a Phoenix (unregistered animagus).
Dumbledore could have d purposely in order to renew Harry's protection, like when his mom d.
Harry is a Horcrux - it would explain the connections between him and Voldemort and the prophecy neither can live...
Dumbledore isn't , it's Snape that's . Is that possible? As I said I haven't read the books for a while but reading your posts I thought what if Dumbledore and Snape somehow switched places using a polyjuice potion or something more powerful. Snape would be ; Dumbledore would be close to Voldemort. Would explain why Dumbledore (actually Snape) begged Snape (actually Dumbledore) for his . Reveille from Kingston,
The fact that you mentioned about Snape looking out of the window and pretending to know about the task that was set to Draco by the Dark Lord, happened right at the beginning of the book. However I believe that Dumbledore formulated the plan for his own when Harry came back from his christmas holidays at the Burrow. This took place around about the middle of the book. how can you say that dumbledore is not . the curse that dumbedore put on harry at the top of the tower would not have lifted if he hadnt d, as it says in the book. and as dumbledore once said no one can come back from the ! Posted by leah from devon on May 6, 2007 07:36 AM
even though is very hard to admit, dumbledore is and cannot come back to life. but i am sure snape is good. he ed dubledore under his command. and i'm also sure he'll play a important role in the last book. it be snape who help harry the most with the rest of the horcruxes. but the question is... how he convince harry and the rest of the order that he ed dumbledore under his own command? after all everbody thinks snape is in the dark side. just watched poa, and wondered about snape's reaction to hoping to be the one to find and punished Sirius. Why is this? Their school rivalry? The fact that at the time Snape is meant to be good and Sirius bad? Or is Lily involved? Posted by mmc from sa on May 7, 2007 01:07 AM

Harry got the protection because his mother sacrificed herself, she begged voldemort not to harry and I believe she threw herself in front of him. Dumbledore wasn't really sacrificing himself for harry. The plan was to dumbledore and harry was for voldemort to , so they weren't intending to harry. So dumbledore wasn't really giving himself up for harry. Posted by claudia on May 7, 2007 04:38 AM
Albus would not have "renewed Harry's protection" by in the same way Lily did for the simple fact that Harry was not the target, Albus was. Albus' martyrdom surly reinstate Harry's determination, but not the protection.
It seems to me that Albus planned his , and for Severus to him, since before he hired Severus to the DADA job, possibly since even before Half-Blood Prince began. As we've all said, Ablus was not afraid of ; I think he knew he would not survive this round of Voldemort's hostile takeover ever since Philosopher's Stone. During the conversation he had with Harry right after Sirius' , he keeps saying (paraphrased) "my flaw was that I cared more about your happiness than the success of my plan". It is not unfathomable to think that this plan included with his own . Posted by Monkeeshrines from orlando fl on May 7, 2007 07:17 AM
you read too much into it. i think as long as the person intends to , then the curse can be performed. in this case, snape could be on dumbledore's duty to develop that intention to dumbledore. he can be good and be able to use avada kadavra at the same time. i think harry wont believe snape if he says he is good and it is true although i think he is and that snape made an unbreakable vow with dumbledore to him to give harry extra protection. Posted by sheepy from dayton,Ohio on May 7, 2007 10:34 AM
