Harry Potter producer David Heyman has announced that the point the final two movies will be split has been decided upon, but would not confirm details of the scene chosen to end Harry Potter and rhe Deathly Hallows: Part One. He said, "It will be incredibly dramatic, very moving and make people want to watch the next film."

Hah, I would want to watch the next film anyway, never mind where they decide to end the first... But wasn't there once this information that the first ends with "Malfoy Manor"? Maybe they'll split it when Dobby gets stabbed by Bellatrix as this is moving and dramatic? But anyway I know for sure know that it be hell to walk out of the cinema halfway through the story and then having to wait for another six month for it to continue... poor HP fans, the producers really count on us hanging out there... Probably right when the snatchers get them. Then boom, end scene. Posted by Anonymous on June 12, 2010 09:23 AM
The words "emotional conclusion" make me think that they might split it after Dobby's burial, rather than when the trio is captured by Snatchers or during the Malfoy Manor sequence. The burial would give the first film the most "complete" feeling. That's where I'd want them to split it, anyway. Before, David Yates and Joshua Herdman (who plays Goyle) were talking about the split being around when the trio is captured by Snatchers. Maybe this ending was the one Heyman was referring to when he said that they changed the ending (before reverting to the original ending that they've decided to settle with). If it hadn't been so early in the story, I think Ron's return would have been a nice place to spilt the films (although it's about the half-way point in the book, it would leave too much to cover in Part II with most of the major action sequences and the explanation of the Hallows i.e.).
