Judging a book by its cover

by David Haber

We finally have images of the covers of the American and British versions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and if these covers are anything like previous Harry Potter book covers have been, these new covers potentially tell us a lot of what is going to happen in Book 7.

Jo said that Dumbledore is coming in some shape, and this dragon has fingers and gray beard. And do you recall the sentence in the beginning of every book (Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus). Do you think the dragon mentioned there could be Dumbledore and it's time for it to raise again?

i think it is norbert. he hasn't been mentioned since book 1, and we know how things come up again! Charlie probably tamed him.

I think one thing that looks certain is that Ron and Hermione do go back to Hogwarts, has Harry obtained the dragon without them and then gone to their aid at Hogwarts rescuing them.

Don't think it's Norbert, as surely Hagrid would be involved in the scene, I honestly don't think we'll see Norbert again.

judging by how the dragon looks, misty eyes, the grey beard, I'd say it's an old dragon, once which Dumbledore had as a 'pet', and like with Fawkes, the dragon knows who is loyal and trusts Harry and comes to his aid.

A lot of people are saying they believe the dragon to be Dumbledore in some way, I'm not sure but what I see to back that up besides the beard are the long finger like front paws which look very human like, and the shape of the nose, heart anyone?

Have other people noticed that they seem to be following a mist?

Wow, Nice cover! I bet the dragon is Norbert.

In Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, the first dragon the antipodean opaleye matches the description exactly. If its Dumbledore, how come the eyes are dull and pupil less and not bright blue?

I personally think the dragon is Norbert, Charlie gave it to Gringotts, I think they'll having extra security, so they asked for new dragons (maybe Bill contacted Charlie). I think somehow Harry, Ron and Hermione got into Gringotts (children cover) and there they met Norbert and start travelling with him, maybe to go to Godric's Hollow.

It also looks like Hermione is injured, otherwise why would she be riding lying down instead of straddling the dragon like Ron and Harry?

What happened to the back of the dragon?

in this new picture with the dragon... ron and hermoine are wearing their school black robes...this confirms that hogwarts re-open. I also belive dragon in question is norbet. i remember JK mentioning some time back that harry get a new pet...it may be fawkes or may be this dragon...

Norbert! Yay we get to see Norbert again! I knew it since he keeps getting mentioned in each and every book since Charlie took him away in Philosopher's Stone. Now, where's Fluffy?

I don't think that it is a real dragon. They are just to wild and they can't be tamed. I think it has to be a human, transformed into a dragon. And the grey beard, I personally think that it is Aberforth, because JK said that dumbledore is .

Charlie Weasly breeds dragons, and tames them. Perhaps Charlie has, on orders of Dumbledore, trained dragons so they could fight against Voldemort!
