J.K. Rowling pays $4 million for mansion in Scotland

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has splashed out Ł2.2million ($4 million) on a new mansion, then paid an extra Ł300,000 ($490,000) so she could throw a lavish Christmas party there. The millionaire writer snapped up the 17th-century home in Edinburgh after viewing just two rooms in the plush pad. It's not known if J.K. plans to move her family there.
