J.K. Rowling goes Beyond the Epilogue

J.K. Rowling has announced in a new interview with that the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was vague on purpose. She admitted her original epilogue was "a lot more detailed," but now that Book 7 is in our hands, J.K. no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter, and has now given us a lot of new details about the story and the characters.

No, AlexG. - Hagrid and Madame Maxime never got together, unfortunately. Rowling stated somewhere that he was not quite sophisticated enough for her... well, it must be slightly difficult living with someone who keeps dragons, spiders, etc. as pets - and he would probably never give up on those, even for a woman. I think in a way Hagrid is probably the most self- sufficient character of all; he doesn't care about wealth and standards at all - bless him. Really glad she changed Percy from the original epilogue. It seemed as though JKR had him resumed to the old Percy, when clearly, he had changed. Although, I though the Joke he made about his "resigning" was a hint that he'd take over for Fred in running the Joke shoppe. Posted by scout on July 21, 2008 2:38 PM
what happened to kreacher? did the eaters get into sirius's house and mistreat him? Posted by Anonymous on July 27, 2008 4:40 PM
What about Lavender Brown? It only says "unmoving Lavender Brown" or something like that. I don't have the book with me. what happened to her? Posted by ithil from Cal.Merced on August 2, 2008 3:31 PM
Ithil, I personaly think that she grew up to marry: Ernie Macmillan OR Justin Finch-Fletchy, either one, they both sound like a good couple.
Anonymous, Kreacher survived because in HP 7 it says "Maybe I could get Kreacher to get me a sandwich" (sounds cheesy buts its true) its in the second last chapter.
Im still extrememly angry at Jk because she ed Colin Creevy and Tonks, I mean, Colin was only 15!
About Percy, I think that he took over Dolores Umbridge, as Senior Undesectery to the Minister, because he knows Kingsley and (presumabley) trusts him.
And lastly to Harry Potter and all of his Family and friends, a happy life, away from all the and grief they had grown uccostomed to. (I know that they aren't real but i still fell good saying it) Posted by Callum from Raven Claw Common Room on August 9, 2008 01:17 AM
well i was wondering
does harry live in grimmauld place after the war as kreacher is now loyal to him and he does own the house? Posted by mattie from England on August 21, 2008 03:57 AM
This information was exciting, yet sad to read. I am glad she decided to divulge it to all of her adoring fans. I just can't believe that the series ended already. They were so good. She had an imagination like, none I have ever seen before. JK Rowling is the reason I started reading books. I have always wanted to be a writer, but didn't fully understand how, until the Harry Potter series came along. JK Rowling, if you are reading this, I want to Thank-You, you are an inspiration to me. I think this all sounds great, but I think I might have liked the romantic paring of Luna and Neville. My reasoning behind this is, they are both really nice and sweet, and a bit odd. But also, they have both had tragedy in their lives. They were both raised by one person. I also read somewhere that Cho married a muggle, (the poor man, he might be a little confused by Cho's random crying over Cedric-LOL). I think that Ron worked with George in the shop for a while when he was grieving the most, and then when George married Angelina (I LOVE that pairing!) he became an auror. i hope she writes an something else pertaining to Harry, I have loads of questions. Wow I really really enjoyed reading JK Rowling's beyond the epilogue, it was fantastic! I can't wait for the Harry Potter Encyclopedia! Any idea of when it comes out? Posted by Tracy K from South Africa on January 4, 2009 07:19 AM
Does Proffesor Snape get his own portrait along with the other headmasters? if so, does Harry ever talk to him like he did Proffesor Dumbledore Posted by tim erdt from portland, oregon on January 8, 2009 8:43 PM
Wow, Tim! Wouldn't that be a fascinating conversation? I suppose Snape does get a portrait, although it's always possible the portrait might go AWOL in Harry's presence. I can imagine him sneaking a look though if young Albus Severus landed in the Headmaster's study. Posted by Elizabeth from Australia on January 10, 2009 05:13 AM
