J.K. Rowling goes Beyond the Epilogue

J.K. Rowling has announced in a new interview with that the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was vague on purpose. She admitted her original epilogue was "a lot more detailed," but now that Book 7 is in our hands, J.K. no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter, and has now given us a lot of new details about the story and the characters.

Possibly Molly didn't know which of her sons to give the watch to. Remember also that Ron had a real thing about all his stuff being hand-me-down. I'm sure she knew and understood that. Giving the watch to Harry was a very special thing - telling him that he was part of a family that loved him.

The Gaunts must have been descended from the second of the Peverell brothers since the Resurrection Stone came down to them. So I guess old Marvolo must have been some sort of VERY distant cousin to Harry. At several removes. The Gaunts were also descended from Salazar Slytherin, but I understood that to be a separate connection and nothing to do with Harry. Like your cousins having another set of grandparents that have no connection to you. Hope that makes sense. It's late here.

I do not know why people always say things like why did JK do that especially when the things she does normally become the beginning of an exciting adventure for the characters.

I wanted to find out more about Mr. and Mrs. Weasly. Once their kids grew up, what did thay do?

"I wanted to find out more about Mr. and Mrs. Weasly. Once their kids grew up, what did thay do?"

Breathed a huge sigh of relief they weren't paying whopping school fees anymore, raised a glass or two of Firewhiskey to the fact that they'd done a really good job and got on with the rest of their lives. And enjoyed their grandchildren.

Harry shouldn't have named all his kids after people. Their names sound weird.
Some questions I have:
1) What happended to the Dursleys?
2) Madame Maxine wasn't mentioned in the 7th book. What happened with her and Hagrid?
3) Was Teddy Lupin a werewolf?

Hagrid! Whatever happened to our beloved Hagrid?

Rowling has said that Harry and Dudley remained on Christmas card terms and that Harry used to drop in to see Dudley and his family from time to time. Also that Harry's kids dreaded these visits.

I don't think Teddy was a werewolf. The implication of Lupin saying that the baby's hair is already changing colour suggests that he has taken after Tonks. By the time Lupin and Tonks are ed it is well over a month since Teddy's birth. They would have known by then and Lupin says nothing. Given his utter joy over the baby I think it's safe to say that Teddy isn't growling in his cot at full moon. Not saying Lupin would have loved him any the less, just that he wouldn't have been as happy because he would have been worried about Teddy's future.

Hagrid and Madame Maxime - harder to guess. It's a pity she didn't come into DH, but there was so much there already that Rowling had to make SOME sacrifices. Logically either Hagrid would have to leave Hogwarts to be with her or she would have to leave Beauxbatons. Possibly Rowling decided that was an awkward situation and deliberately left us to make up our own minds according to which ending we prefer. I'm opting for each sticking to their jobs and getting together during the holidays.

Yeah, what did happen to the Dursley's? What about Neville? They didn't say much about him. What happens to Harry, Ron and Malfoys kids? Are they rivals like their parents were?

on professional side, Neville is Herbology teacher at Hogwarts but surely i'll like to know whom did he marry and about his kids too. but we don't see spouse of any hogwarts teacher, does that mean Neville stayed unmarried?

Jo says Neville married Hannah Abbott. She becomes the landlady at the Leaky Cauldron. But I don't believe anything has been said about any family Neville and Hannah may have had.

It says in the third movie that the Care of Magical Creatures teacher that preceded Hagrid left to "spend some more time with his remaining limbs", which I took to mean his family. It doesn't say anything about not being married, but seeing that Hogwarts teachers live at the school, and a teacher's spouse living there with the teacher is considered unprofessional, the teachers should be unmarried.

Actually, I took the comment about remaining limbs to mean that care of magical creatures is a hazardous activity and that he had lost some of his limbs during the job!
