J.K. Rowling goes Beyond the Epilogue

J.K. Rowling has announced in a new interview with that the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was vague on purpose. She admitted her original epilogue was "a lot more detailed," but now that Book 7 is in our hands, J.K. no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter, and has now given us a lot of new details about the story and the characters.

I continue to love this site and everyone's great ideas!

Amber - I think that Teddy is not a werewolf because he showed traits of being a metamorphmagus. I can't remember the page but when Lupin was telling Harry and the others that the baby had come, he described how Teddy's hair had been changing colors.

Now, I know it's possible that he could be a metamorphmagus and a werewolf but, I am choosing to think not as it would be a lot for him to manage.

I would like to know what house Albus Potter was sorted into. I like to believe he was accepted into Slytherin, but many of my companions disagree.

Lupin wasn't a werewolf when he was born. He became so because he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback. It seems to me then that being werewolf is a kind of disease you can't recover from, and you can only transmit through biting. It doesn't affect the genes. Then, it can't be transmitted genetically. Teddy should not be a werewolf, as long as Remus is wise (who is going to prepare his potion know that Snape is ?).

I just got back from my holidays and I must say that I thought DH was absolutly the best book JK has ever written!
Yes, the epilogue was a bit hazy, but it was satisfying. I'm very curious about the encyclopedia. I hope there's going to be alot in it about the department of mysteries.

I know this would never happen, but i think it would be really cool if Petunia taught Mugglestus at Howarts. Vernon and Dudley could live there or maybe at Privet Drive.

I agree with The Forest Moon: If albus potter was sorted into Slytherin, it probably wouldnt matter because theres no more Voldy. But how do they sort, didnt Voldy make the sorting hat burst into flames?

I hope Teddy Lupin can change his fur color. I think Harry and Ginny live at Godric's Hollow, but theyve fixed everthing up.

There is a reference in "Chamber of Secrets" about Hagrid raising werewolf cubs under his bed. If true, this suggests the they can breed as well as infect by biting.

et - The "reference" about Hagrid raising werewolf cubs was an exaggeration of Tom Riddle's. There is no real evidence that lycanthropy (werewolfism) is transmittable via genetics, at least not in the Harry Potter universe. Although I have seen suggestions elsewhere that made me giggle about a turquoise werewolf running around the Forbidden Forest, I do agree with Herve that biting is thus far the only method of transmitting the werewolf condition. In addition, Jo has quite clearly stated that Teddy is not a werewolf (on the webchat).

Note that I did qualify the reference to Hagrid and his werewolf cubs by saying "if true," and "suggests," rather than an absolute declaration of this as fact. I am aware that in "classic" lycanthropy, they do reproduce by biting/infecting their victims. However, Lupin was quite concerned that his offspring might have been born a werewolf, so it seems reasonable that the trait may be inheritable. Fortunately not in Teddy's case. Also, while I agree that Riddle's comment was likely an exaggeration, given Hagrid's proclivities, it still makes sense!

I am very curious about Teddy. While he obviously displays some of Tonk's gifts, does he also inherit any of the qualities Lupin feared he would?
Also, as the mother of twins who, although young are very close, I am very curious about George. How does he fare emotionally after the loss of his brother - the other half of himself? And does he go on to become the "wealthiest of them all" as Ron predicted?

does Kreacher remain at hogwarts, or does he live with Harry? I would think that Harry would free him, but that Kreacher would remain with Harry out of loyalty. Couldn't you picture him taking care of the kids? I think it would be sweet.

What about the Dursleys? Did a year spent in magical seclusion change the way they felt about magic? Did Petunia ever admit her longing to be part of that community? Do they have any contact with Harry after the downfall of Voldemort? I've read the book twice now, and although I loved every page, I am besieged by questions that I fear I never have answers to as the series has ended.
