J.K. Rowling goes Beyond the Epilogue

J.K. Rowling has announced in a new interview with that the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was vague on purpose. She admitted her original epilogue was "a lot more detailed," but now that Book 7 is in our hands, J.K. no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter, and has now given us a lot of new details about the story and the characters.

So, whatever happened with the Dursleys? As far as I know JK has not mentioned anything about them. Did Harry ever have any contact with them again, did they ever change their attitude towards him? At least Dudley did, but what about the horrible aunt? She was the worst of all, because he was HER nephew, so she should have been the one showing him some love and making the rest of her family to treat him right, so if Vernon and Dudley were the way they were, it was because of Petunia!

i kind of wish that J.K. put all that other information (or at least some of it) into the epilogue. its very interesting and would be good to know. i agree with mcm... what did happen to the Dursley's? i mean, did Dudly and harry keep in touch?

I think there should be another sequel about Albus, James, Rose, Lily, Hugo, and all of the Weasley's and everybody's kids. I think that would be nice and we would get to see if they inherited their parents' personalities.

These are some questions I would like answered.
1. What happened to the Dursleys? They just sort of dissappeared, if you know what I mean.
2. What happened to Mr. Weasley's car? I thought it was supposed to make an appearance.
3. What happened to the giants?
4. What happened to Madame Maxime?
5. What happened to Aragog's descendants?
6. Much of the Hogwarts castle was destroyed in the battle. Who fixed it and when?
7. Did Harry ever go back to Number 12 Grimmauld Place?
8. Where did Harry and Ginny live?
9. Whatever happened to Dennis Creevey?
10. Did Luna ever have kids and did she teach them to be like her?

i think she should write another book about the trio's new peaceful life. harry potter created a completely new world to explore, and I would be disapointed if I could never experience adventure there again. there are so many things in harrry's world like wandlore and magical beasts and transfiguration. JK changed the meaning of witch from ugly wartfaced evil potion making creeps to normal people with wonderful magical powers which they can use when ever they want. i know it takes a lot of work to write a book but i am a harry potter geek and i couldnt bear to know its over...

i loved the last book it was great...but i also think the they should either make a sequel to the book or prequel to them, which would tell about Voldemort gaining power and harry's parents fighting against him with the Order of the Phoenix and all. I think that would be awesome...

Something that makes me kind of bitter: At the finale scene, when Hagrid is holding Harry's apparently body, and Voldemort is proclaiming his total victory, why is Neville the only one who tries to fight back?

Not Kingsley, the future Minister and all round awesome unbeatable Auror. Not McGonagall, who for decades fought Voldemort with Dumbledore. Not Ginny, who you would have expected to use a Bat-Bogey hex on Voldemort in her fury at her lover's . Of course, it wouldn't have harmed Voldemort, but still...

It bugs me that nobody else tried to resist Voldemort after Harry went down.

I'd like to find out what happened to Grindlewald, because it wasnt that clear what happened after voldemort visited him. personally i'd like to see maybe a sequel about Harry or his children fighting Grindlewald

some questions:

1. Where are the Dursleys?
2. What happens to the Malfoys?
3. Does Harry get another owl?
4. What happens to Kreacher?
5. Does Mr or Mrs Weasley ?
6. Who is Headmaster/mistress of Hogwarts?
7. Completely random but always wondered...where did JK Rowling get the name Hogwarts from?
8. What happened to Ron's arm when he splinched himself? Did it get splinched completely or just a part of it got torn away?
9. Where's the Invisibility Cloak?
10. What happened to the Dementors?
11. What was with Bathilda Bagshot? I got really confused with the snake and everything. Was she before that?
12. Does Harry ever return to Grimmauld Place or Privet Drive?
13. Where's Mrs Figg?
14. Did we ever find out what was behind the locked door in the Department of Mysteries?
15. Who was Charity Burbage (don't know if that's her name, spell checker didn't have it in there) and what was the significance of her?

Sorry...but Jo really needs to write an encyclopedia to explain all these unanswered questions....I have more that undoubtedly pop into my mind after i submit this comment but oh well...

I love reading everyones' comments and have to say, I've started my third read through of DH and because of the discussion on this site, each reading seems to be richer than the last.
JKRowling is talented beyond measure for creating a world where so much richness lies in every page and can only be discovered with time, thought and rereading.
Dave, kudos to you for conceiving of this site. It is the best and I sincerely hope you continue to provoke thoughtful discussion about Rowling's amazing world for a long time to come.
