J.K. Rowling goes Beyond the Epilogue

J.K. Rowling has announced in a new interview with that the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was vague on purpose. She admitted her original epilogue was "a lot more detailed," but now that Book 7 is in our hands, J.K. no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter, and has now given us a lot of new details about the story and the characters.

Who does George marry? Grrr. Why did she have to off Fred? It makes me sad. I was a Luna/Fred shipper, and still am, because in my head, I've made a new chapter bringing him back. In my opinion, he is now married to Luna and they have a daughter named Nymphadora after Tonks. Fred and George made enough moola in the joke buisness to buy Austrailia, where all of the Muggles were so afraid of all the magic and stuff, that only the aborigonals and wizards live there now. The two host the Quidditch World Cup every year, and have a lot of fun doing it. Posted by Hannah on August 8, 2007 4:54 PM
i loved all the books, and i was really happy with the ending, but suprisingly i want to know what happened to the Dursleys. They left in the begining and then we don't find out anything else. Posted by megan from CA on August 8, 2007 8:23 PM
I agree, Megan. Did Dudley actually turn out all right after his moment of sincerity? I'd like to see what happened to Albus Severus also. I would have like Luna to have married Neville. Theyre both sweet, determined, shy, and nature-lovers. I don't think Luna and Fred would have been good together at all. They had nothing in common, and never spoke to each other. i can't wait for the encyclopedia! i really want there to be more and more harry potter books but it has to end somehow, sadly.
i want to know what happened to the children. maybe there could be a next generation of harry potter books based on the characters' children?, especially what'll happen to albus severus potter? also, it would be great to see how the dursleys turned out, especially dudley. he seemed to have a 'moment' with harry in the beginning but that was the last we heard of him. I really want to know what happened to Olivander. and what appened to Hermiones parents? and for that matter, what becomes of Grawp and Hagrid? Posted by CDR_John from Planet Utopia, Washington on August 9, 2007 9:55 PM
I loved book 7! even though i disagreed with some of the people she ed (lupin, tonks, fred, dobby). i am thrilled at the idea of a harry potter encyclopedia and i be there the second it comes out. i hope that jk answer some of the things that were a bit blurry after the epilogue.
i want to know what happens to everybody. i think it would be a great idea if jo wrote a prequel series about harrys parents and there friends time at hogwarts. i would also like to know more about the lily snape time before hogwarts. i think jk should definitely write another harry potter book... whether its an encyclopedia a prequel or another sequel. whatever it is i know i would read it. The epilogue as mentioned was very incomplete and left many of the readers in deep thought. Who did george marry? Who did Draco marry to have Scorpious? What happened to the Dudleys after the last time they saw Harry? What did the rest of the eaters do or what happened to them after the downfall or of Voldemort? So many more questions... Albus Severus Potter's initials are ASP, which is a type of Eqyptian Viper. Does anyone else find it funny that Harry had a child whose intitials form a type of snake? Posted by John from Middletown, NJ on August 10, 2007 11:36 AM
Here are some things that I still find fuzzy: Who did George marry? Who did Draco Malfoy marry? What happened to the Dursleys? I can't wait for the encyclopedia! Posted by maria from Cincinnati, OH on August 11, 2007 12:17 PM
I think it's blatant that Filch became the new headmaster, employing Mrs. Norris as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I also believe that Mrs. Dursley gained unlimited wizarding power from a magic gem and turned Dudley into a pig once and for all. Posted by Just a concerned citizen from UK on August 11, 2007 5:00 PM
I wish JKR hadn't been so vague about Winky. It seems that in GoF she and Dobby started to get to know each other very well. We know that house elves breed-in HBP Ron says that Kreacher's ambition is "to be beheaded and have his head put up on a plaque like his MOTHER". Maybe Winky and Dobby were mates of some sort? I'd like the idea of Dobby having a son or daughter. Sort of carrying on his spirit, I like that. Posted by C.J. from Utah on August 12, 2007 01:24 AM
