Is Harry the last horcrux?
 by David Haber
In Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, we learned that, to make himself immortal, Lord Voldemort ripped his soul into seven pieces, and created six horcruxes (the seventh piece of his soul still residing in his body). We know or suspect about five of the horcruxes. Is it possible that Harry is the sixth horcrux? There are clues to suggest that he is.

I would pick up then something from Ravenclaw and something from Gryffindor. One of those being Nagini. That makes six, and one object from each founder, which fits with Jo's sense of harmony - and Voldemort's quest.
Harry's scar would inhabit Voldemort's seventh part of soul, but to me, it's the same part as in Voldemort's body. From this point of view, Harry isn't a horcrux. Posted by herve from strasbourg on April 23, 2007 08:44 AM
Some of you have mentioned that Neville got the last wand that Olivander ever MADE, others have stated that the wand was MADE FOR Neville but, please correct me if I am wrong, believe the wand that Neville got was the last wand Olivander ever SOLD, so it could have been in the shop for decades, maby even centuries, before Neville got his wand.
If this is true, it might eve be Ravenclaws wand, and a true Relic. Somewhere else in this site I have read that there was no wand being displayed in SS movie, as was clearly mentioned in the book, but if you look closely, there is a wand displayed on the side of the counter INSIDE olivanders shop, protected by glass.
Could it be Rowena's wand? Posted by Emilio from Mexico City, Mexico on April 23, 2007 2:16 PM
Emilio, I have been looking for the quote about Neville's wand, but I can't find it. I'll take your word that it was not made specifically for Neville. I still think we see great things, OK, maybe good things from Neville with his own wand. Posted by Patty from Quincy MA on April 23, 2007 4:28 PM
Neville just said (or someone said for him) that he probably got the last wand Ollivander ever sold. The fact Neville has a new wand could be a clue: up to now, the fact Neville's wand was broken added nothing to the plot. But there is no hint that the wand could be a relic (I personaly doubt that Ollivander would sell a wand known as being Ravenclaw's, but why not, since the wand "chooses the wizard").
As I understand, the wands are not made specifically for someone. They are made, and then you find one that fits yuor ss. Posted by herve from strasbourg on April 24, 2007 12:14 AM
How can Harry Voldemort without ing himself if he is a horcrux?
On the 4th book there's a statement where, after Harry has already told Dumbledore what had happened at the graveyard, he saw "a gleam of something like triumph" on Dumbledore's eyes:
"He said my blood would make him stronger..." For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph on Dumbledore's eyes... (604 Br version GoF)
As Dumbledore says on the 5th and 6th book, he already knew about Voldemort's Horcruxes (in fact, he knew it since Harry's first year at Hogwarts). So, when Voldemort used Harry's blood (and technically, part of the Horcrux that remains on Harry) to revive himself, the Horcrux would have left Harry's body and gone into Voldemort's new one; so might have two pieces of his soul inside himself and not realising it. What do you think? Posted by Ariel Kuperman from Melbourne, Australia on April 24, 2007 03:38 AM
Actually that makes sense to me. I believed instanly that harry was a horcrux when i was reading the book because i flick through the others while i'm reading it. now i think that harry COULD be a horcrux, but it's way too obvious for JK. The clues to the theory that Dumbledore might not be were quite well hidden and you have to be really analytical to notice them. So i'm not too sure on this one. What if Lily knew she would and she arranged Petunia to take harry before she d, and both she and dumbledore put protection on the dursely home, lasting for 16 years? Posted by Rebekah from Birmingham on April 24, 2007 11:41 AM
i think it's true because jk breifly mentions dumbledore saying that voldemort was intending on making his last horcrux that night... when he said the avada keradva, maybe he was using the horcrux spell nonverbelly, not expecting the curse to backfire, in result making harry a horcrux. I have another theory about the last horcrux...
I have just started re-reading the books in preperation for the seventh and I am on the 2nd, nearing the end.
Whilst Harry is talking to Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets Riddle tells Harry...
"I grew powerful, far more powerful than Miss Weasley. Powerful enough to start feeding Miss Weasley a few of my secrets, to start pouring a little of MY SOUL BACK INTO HER." (CoS, p228 UK edition)
Does this mean that Ginny could be the last horcrux? This would make a great plot twist, with Harry having to the one he loves. Posted by Will from London on April 27, 2007 01:13 AM
I was thinking it over and without a doubt Harry is the last Horcrux. Posted by Rachel on April 28, 2007 8:04 PM
Will-- Tom Riddle was uncommonly good at charming people, wowing people, and controlling people. When he says "I put a bit of my soul back into her" I think it was merely figurative. And besides, the Tom Riddle that was talking was a Horcrux, and I don't think that Horcruxes can make more Horcruxes of the original person who made them a Horcrux. Wow that's confusing. I have been going over this theory many times and I think that Harry isn't the last Horcrux. If Voldemort did indeed intend to and did Harry in the end he would thus obliterate his last Horcrux. This would allow anyone on Harry's side at the time fighting with him (if there is a fight with everyone good/bad) to see that the last Horcrux is gone (if Harry told them about it) and then use the 'Avada Kedavra' curse on Voldemort and Voldemort.
