Foreshadowings in Prisoner of Azkaban
 by David Haber
In an interview released around the time of the theatrical premiere of Prisoner of Azkaban, an interview which is also on the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD, J.K. Rowling said, "Alfonso Cuaron had very good intuition about what would and wouldn't work. He's put things in the film that, without knowing it, foreshadow things that are going to happen in the final two books."

Sirius's soul is coming out in 1 solid stream, while Harry's is coming out in two different paths. Could this mean that Harry really is a horcrux? It would make sense because then his body would be host to two souls instead of one. Posted by Vince Tardiff from Maine on June 21, 2007 1:17 PM
I noticed something else, too. Sirius' soul doesn't come out of his mouth in the book, and the sould is the same as the bright blue light behind the triangle shaped thing on the spine of DH.
Could this be ANOTHER clue? Posted by Andy from England on June 22, 2007 05:59 AM
Sirius and lupin, I highly doubt. Hermione might be. Also, in the 2nd movie, they show hermiones parents but they look nothing like her. Maybe snape is just innocent, but mean. Draco just has problems in my opinion. One thing about the hermione thing, isn't trelawney supposed to be a little (okay, very) nutty? but she did do the prophecy. What if somebody told her the prophecy, and she just re-told it? Posted by Abby from Johnstown,PA on June 22, 2007 1:30 PM
I think every one is right about snape liking lily, because usually when people like each other they pretend to hate each other. And lupin talks very kindly about her, but it could also be just a best friend's wife sort of thing.
also i thought Lupin likes tonks, but she wasn't alive yet then. She also doesnt mention pettigrew having a girl friend.
I agree with Batholomew, why would hermione like boys her age, was it just a cover sort of thing? She couldn't be that old because trelawneys only been working at hogwarts since she did the prophecy. Posted by Abby from Johnstown,PA on June 22, 2007 1:50 PM
I think that one thing that was foreshadowed was in the Great Hall when everybody was in sleeping bags on the floor, right after the Fat Lady ran away, was when Dumbledore was talking to Snape and he said, "In dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let him swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud." I think that quote foreshadowed the tasks that Dumbledore and Harry went through at the end of book 6. The swimming in the deepest ocean was when they jumped off the cliff and swam to the cave, and the cloud part was when they flew their brooms to the astronomy tower. I think your right... only i think the part about the clouds could be when he rode the threstal to the ministry of magic. Posted by Taryn from Easton, Pennsylvania on June 26, 2007 01:43 AM
What about Dumbledore being able to stop harry from falling and without use his wand but his hand? What about it when Menerva said that the Potters knew that Voldemort was after them, and then we discover that they knew because of the prophecy? I think that he idea of Hermione being an older witch is pretty far-fetched. I don't think that she is really older than she looks, because we have seen her date older boys. She also is obviously wise beyond her years, but I think that the fact that she is a reincarnation coming back to help Harry is hopelessly far-fetched. Someone said earlier:
"I think Harry see the good in Voldemort and stop him from being evil. Since Dumbledore always stresses that Harry can love. And having his mothers traits helps him see the good in people when they cant see it in them selves."
I think this is essential, as we already know in HBP that Harry feels a bit sorry for Voldemort. After showing Harry a memory, Dumbledore says something like, "are you possibly feeling sorry for Lord Voldemort?" and Harry responds, "No!"
But we know he is. Does this have anything to do with it? Posted by Sophie from Los Gatos, CA on July 1, 2007 1:01 PM
Yes I absolutely agree with Jon; Hermione being an older witch i way too far fetched and hopelessly impossible. Posted by siyuan from singapore on July 2, 2007 04:06 AM
I think that the speculation about being able to come back to life as your Animagus may be something we should hang on to. I think that the dragon on the US cover of ly Hallows could possibly be Dumbledore, note the gray beards. Does anyone recall Dumbledore having an animagus? Maybe I should have googled that before I wrote this. I have a fear of leaving a comment that is totally lame. Posted by Hilary from The FB on July 3, 2007 12:20 PM
Ron seems very selfish in the movie, he pushes Harry toward Buckbeak, he seems to care more about Scabbers than Harry, it's Hermione that says "If you want to Harry..."
the dementor tries to kiss Harry on the train and at the quidditch match too, and I think he's a Horcrux and that that's how he's gonna get it out of himself so...
during the quidditch match the dog that's supposed to be Sirius is a cloud.
Buckbeak saves Harry and Hermione from Lupin in the forest.
Trewlawney's prophecy is completely different. Posted by anonymous on July 4, 2007 12:23 AM
