Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

Harry not ...It would ABSOLUTELY break my heart and I'm sure everyone elses! I really doubt that J.K. would him off. Voldemort is going to suffer something worst than because its probably not a coincidence that Dumbledore told him that in OotP!

Although many think that Harry is a horcrux (his scar), it is widely stated that he isn't. Not just because Voldemort don't know how his horcruxes are (as told by Dumbledore in HBP) or if just was accidentally made during AK curse against Harry. As far as we know, in HBP we saw how Slughorn told Voldemort (in the pensieve) that after the , he has to "encapsulate" a part of his damaged soul with a spell (I supose a very very dark and awfully difficult spell), so how could Voldemort do that spell, if he couldn't Harry? I thinks it's very clear.

Andrew from Lexington:

You wrote: "JK has also said in an interview after one of the books that all great wizards turn into phoenixs when they and at the end of HBP harry thinks he saw a phoenix fly out of the white coffin right before they close it meaning i thing dumbledore is but he still has a place in the story."

Wow, I've never heard that statement from JKR about the phoenix. If it is true, that opens so many possibilities. I reread the "The White Tomb" chapter in HBP. You really have hit on something vastly important. Hasn't it been said that HP ends up with a new pet in DH? I and a lot of people assumed it would be Fawkes, but what if it is Dumbledore returned in as a phoenix? I am not saying it return him in a human body, but that phoenix could be so important in the final battle.

In the US cover for DH, it looks as if HP is reaching out for something. Could it be the Dumbledore phoenix and not Fawkes? And going further, if HP doesn't make it, could he come back as a phoenix as well? Wow, my head is spinning with possibilities.

Thanks Andrew for your insight!

Luna give a love potion to Voldy, and he from too much love. Then Harry celebrate with Ron and Hermione and then get hit by the knight bus. Grawp accidently sit on Hagrid, then either Neville or Luna become teachers. Snape falll in love with Malfoy (Not sure which one) and that be the end.

I think Hermione, Draco, Snape, Voldemort, some of the teachers, and all of the Eaters .

Perhaps in the supposed ing of dumbledore, snape used occlumency on himself to believe he was acctually ing dumbledore when he was not. Dumbledore could have an animagus in the form of the phoenix and was merely playing until the burning in wich he escaped.Maybe J.K said dubledore was not pulling a Gandalf but i think its an interesting thought.
And one more thing, is it possible for a user of the unforgivable curse that controls people.
First i he takes over a muggle, than gives that muggle a staff to control another muggle(remember olliwander dissapered)and thus forming a chain of conntrolled muggles who can all fire the same spell att ones giving extrodinary firepower.

If you could use a human animagus, some people that would be perhaps arent.

I really like the idea of snape to save harry. he's saved him often, although he hated him and this would be the perfect way to prove that he is definitly on dumbledores side.
i don't think that ron and hermione but i'm not really sure about harry.
at least somebody of the weasley family have to do as well as of the malfoy family.
i don't think that percy is going to though.
but we only have 8 days until we find out. FINALLY

i think that the trio survive, and i think that hagrid , as well. i cant see him (and im not sure what can him!) snape has to , hes been a middle-man character for too long. and as for anyone else, i'd see lupin, mcgonnagal, slughorn, or anyone else in this one

i think one of the three would definitly may it be harry ron or hermione and well the other can be either neville or ginny

I think (and hope) that Ron . I'm sorry, I just really don't like him - Hermione deserves better!

Also, sadly, I think that Draco . I really like him, but he'll either be almost ed then accepted by the Order, or Voldemort him. I'm imagining a Prophet article which makes Harry feels sadish, Ron feel happy, Hermione feel really sad, and me start bawling. I heart him.

Also, Neville may which make me cry. But I do think and hope that he Bella (yay!)
