Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

Voldemort means to run from or to steal life (depending on what language you translate it from, and both means thereabouts the same)... No one can run forever and people who steal always get caught.

I definitely think one of the trio .
Hagrid won't survive either, because almost all 'parent-like' persons have d already (James, Sirius, Dumbledore..). Hagrid and maybe a member of the Weasley family (Molly?) are left..
Snape.. I think he'll .. But I still don't know whether he is good or evil...
And of course Voldemort . You can't write seven books, closer and closer to that moment, without letting it happen.

i think that voldemort harry but that isn't necessarily a bad thing because when it say about there being a glimmer of happiness (or something like that, not too sure) when dumbledore hears that voldemort used harrys blood to rebirth, i think this means that because harrys blood runs through voldemorts veins if harry s voldemort has to

thats just a theory of mine i also think lupin hagrid or mr weasly s

I can't see Lupin , though many people say he . It would just be too hard on poor Tonks. At the beginning of HBP, Tonks is already miserable because she is convinced she ed Sirius. It would be inhumane, and, frankly, redundant, to have Lupin and see her plunged into the same self-hatred.

My big question is why did snape change sides. I dont think you just change sides to change sides. He was a eater, and then just swapped sides. What caused him to do so?

I am wondering, not only who s, but who is born? Will it say in the epilogue how many children the couples who were married had? If Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione get married, who do you think their kids be?

Posted by Angie from Seattle, Washington on July 11, 2007 09:28 AM

No, no, no, even if it is obvious, Harry and Ginny ARE A DONE DEAL! THEY WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER! Same goes for Hermione and Ron, so I think, because of this, either Ginny and Harry both , or live, Ron and Hermione both , or both live. I think Lupin either in a werewolf battle or saving someone else, I predict his deat be one of the ones she did not originally plan.

Harry probably isn't a Horcrux, because of all the discussion about the two souls in one body, etc. However, the scar could (and very well might) be. If "the one the Dark Lord marked as his equal" cannot live while the Dark Lord himself does, WHY? WHY is that part of the prophecy? If the actual marking seems to be so significant (see the whole "Neville" argument, then perhaps LV took that to mean, leaving a mark that would be able to be used later....? I don't know, I'm not an expert... but neither, really, is anyone here. We all have our theories, and all the debates be settled next weekend.

As far as who s? I think:
--someone from the Order
--a Weasley, but I don't know who is the most likely candidate.
--A Malfoy, but probably not Draco. That'd be too easy.
--Umbridge (that would be nice)

There's going to be a bit of self-sacrificing in this book; who exactly do the sacrificing, I just don't know. I really think, though, that Hagrid's the number 1 candidate to get ed.

Okay -- here's my thoughts.
I don' think that Harry because he was, but no longer is, the seventh horcrux. In the first (or maybe the second?) book, Dumbledore says that Voldemort transferred a bit of himself into Harry -- which I believe turned Harry into a Horcrux. Voldemort Harry would have to BEFORE himself in order to all the horcruxes. But when they raised Voldemort in the graveyard at the end of the fourth book, I think he nixed out the horcrux thing by putting Harry's blood into the cauldron, resulting in the "look of triumph" on Dumbledore's face when he heard that part of the story.

Hagrid, but not Grawp.
Firenz the centaur
Snape -- for sure.
I don't want to say it, but possibly McGonagal

See, I think the fountain in the Ministry for Magic have to form for them to take down Voldemort -- a wizard (Harry), a witch (McGonagal, Ginny, or Hermione), a house elf (Dobby or Kreature -- tho probably Dobby), and a Centaur (Firenze).

i think that having the trio survive is just to happy. you need some tragedy. here are the people i think .

1.Ron trying to help Harry get the horcruxes
2.ginny trying to save harry
3.kingsley shacklebolt trying to fight one of the eaters.
4.fred or gorge trying to help save harry.
6.tonks . jkr not have tonks survive because she has gone through way to much pain already with Sirius and because lupin won't be with her.
i really hope that the twins won't but i think one of them .

Harry can not be a Horcrux.

Why would Voldemont want to destroy a Horcrux? Isn't the whole point of the Horcruxes so he can live forever? By ing Harry, he is effectively destroying the Horcrux. Voldemont hid the Hocruxes (that we know of) so why would he put one in plain sight and in such a faliable body?

Has everyone forgotten about the muggle Prime Minister? You know, in the beginning of HBP Fudge has that big talk with him? Might have some, or A LOT, of importance!
