Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

i think harry become an experienced marksman and shoot voldemort unawares, after all a bullet takes less than a second to go somewhere and i doubt even voldemort can think of a spell to dodge a bullet in the spit second it takes for the bullet to reach him, assuming he hears the bullet before it hits him.

I think the following people :

1. Voldemort: The series is very highly moral. This makes it clear that good triumph over evil (at least at the end).
2. Bellatrix: Neville needs to get his revenge.
3. Hagrid: He hasn't had a major role for a while.
4. Lupin: ditto
5. Krum: Dumbledore said at the end of GoF that liasons between magical schools would be more important that ever. But we haven't seen it yet.

I think that these people :

1. Wormtail - protecting Harry
2. Ron or Hermione
3. Harry Potter - to pursue ing Voldemort
4. Lord Voldemort - must or would ruin the series
5. Slughorn - ed for certain reasons

I don't think Sirius and Quirrell were in the first place, and are coming back.

Who s: Voldimort is ed leavin a surviving Harry even though he's the 7th Horcrux, Tonks and Remus are ed protecting Harry when Voldemort takes over the Ministry, since he's the last person that connects him to the past. Percy is ed protecting the Order and finally admitting he's wrong. Harry's aunt and uncle are ed by his cousin after finding out he's really a wizard. Snape is captured in the end and spends the rest of his life in Azkaban.

Julia, you have the exact same list as me, except Krum, which I am adding. Either him or Ron has to , because both are love interests for Hermione. Personally I like Ron more.

bob from New york.

I always thought that Sirius might come back, but Quirrell NEVER occured to me, and i personally think your right. I think that he may have been using the polyjuice potion to be another character, for quite a bit of the series.

Herve,

I agree that the horcruxes prevented Voldemorts after his curse against Harry backfired. However, the point I was trying to make (not clearly it seems), was that to permanently defeat evil you must destroy it by ing it not just defeating it.

I say this because at one point I felt that Harry could defeat Voldemort without ing him. But I now realize that he does need to Voldemort to get rid of his evil permanently, if not he manage to come back even if the only life left is the part left in Voldemort's body. Even Dumbledore told Harry he would have to Voldemort.

Snape won't go to Azkaban, it was always part of Dumbledore's great plan for him to him, or at least pretend to him. There really are plenty of signs. Voldemort MUST , it wouldn't be right for him not to, the whole series has really been leading up to it. And perhaps Hagrid , if not then Krum or Ron, for the reasons above.

After reading all the books and reading JK's interview based on the seventh book she has mentioned that main characters would be gone. After reading the whole page I deduce from the facts that unfortunately Harry Potter be because its logical since its JK's last book and Harry although has extra ordinary powers can not match the power of a Legendary Maniac (Voldemort) so I guess both Harry and Voldemort at the end of the book. I hope I am wrong about Harry's !

I think that Voldemort somebody very close to Harry i.e Ron/Hermione/Ginny and then this spur a great battle between Harry and Voldemort.

Harry Voldemort with the sword of Godric Gryffindor, although i think it might atually drain Voldemort of his magic abilty, which to him is worse than .

In the end, Harry live but JK Rowling not make it as simple as that. I think that in the end Harry choose to live outside the magic world. If he does , i be so sad and shocked.

Also, i hope that Draco Malfoy does not !
