Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

I hate predictability! Not knowing what was next was the biggest draw to Harry Potter for me. Every now and again I meet someone who actually thinks Harry Potter books are anti-religious and won't let their children read them. I feel so sorry for them that they haven't shared this great adventure.

Whatever happens, I probably reread these books many times, but I still probably not watch the last 2 movies if Harry s. I control my emotions better with a book, but I would be crying so hard in a darkened theater. Then again, I am tearing up just thinking about HP's short life. I would hope he can live long and happy teaching the next generation of young witches and wizards to fight the good fight.

hopefully voldemort won't live... but surely harry, hermione, and ron live as the trio. and that snape help harry voldemort since he tried to protect harry in sorcerer's stone. and maybe he by trying his best to protect harry from getting ed. i hope hagrid lives though as the help he gives to the trio (hopefully the trio won't !).

I reckon that harry, ginny, hagrid, and lupin wont . I watched the 4th movie again yesterday and noticed that when voldemort was asking his followers to bring harry to him, peter pettigrew actually asked if they could do it without harry. Therefore i believe he in order to save harry, snape and harry voldemort. Neville because he's the horcrux and hermione become the next headmaster of hogwarts. But if harry s then Ron and hermione's child is gonna be called harry and if Ron s (which i have a feeling he ) Harry and Ginny call their child Ron.

Harry, Hermione or Ron . I believe at least one survives. I think Ron is the most likely canidate to survive, simply because Hermoine's muggle-born and she's exceptionally clever. Voldy and his Eaters are going to get really irked at a clever muggle-born running, especially when she's so close to Harry. Harry simply snuffs it, because like all other epics, the hero does not get to reach the promised land. So Ron survives by default.

Also, Voldy takes that final leap. Karma's got it in for him. Neville manage to do something great, which be instrumental in Voldemort's downfall. Sadly, he'll because of this. If Snape is good, then he'll (look at past precedents-Sirius was only redeemed post-mortum).

Wow, what a bloodbath. I can tell I'm almost as happy a person as Rowling is!

I really hope these predictions aren't true. The little kid in me is begging for Rowling to at least spare the Trio.

First and foremost on my list of casualties is Snape. Something was going on behind the seens in HBP. Snape is the most loyal member of the order of the pheonix. So loyal he ed his mentor and friend as per his orders. That is commitment. And if he could Dumbledore, he sure could for Harry. The cruelity was just a ruse so Voldemort couldn't read into greater plans. Second is Voldemort. He is the bad guy. He has to . Besides, I think I found that piece of foreshadowing in POA the movie. Harry says (and I quote) "I hope he finds me. When he does, I'll be ready. When he does, I'll him." That wan't in the book, just the movie? what does it foreshadow? Voldemort be onto what Harry is doing and the last battle undoubtedly be at the site of the last Horcrux that Voldemort reach just in time to see Harry distroy it. Bang. There's your final showdown.

I think Hagrid , because he's maybe the last adult character who has always helped Harry fighting evil. Also his mission to have the giants help Harry's cause is very dangerous! I'm quite sure also a member of the Weasley family , because it's Harry second family. During the six books several members of the family have been hurt (Mr Weasley, Bill, Ginny) and now I think someone could . Wy not Molly? She's as a second mother for Harry...

i think that all the friends except harry and like in the goblet of fire in the grave yard the spirits with help harry cast a powerfull spell to destroy voldemort and his eaters, but hagrid wont i hope.

i think that harry's mother and father, lily and james potter come back in spirit form and they and harry in turn destroy voldy with the AK curse. plus the final scene be at privet drive that is totaly recked by the fighting between the order, the DA and the forces of darkness, but the trio lives to fight another day... i hope

I think that the Trio live. No, wait, I don't. I just want them to live. One of either Ron or Hermione , and me being me, I hope its Ron. I'll still be mad if it happens, but... well, I'm a Harry/Hermione supporter.

Ginny Dies. Sorry, but that's my Harry/Hermione instinct kicking in. We know already that Harry doesn't want Ginny to come with him. Knowing Ginny, she'll follow in secret, and old Voldy's gonna use her as lure and then her.

Hagrid may , quite likely, Percy, just 'cos I hate him, and Lucius Malfoy'll too. And Draco. Lupin maybe. Trelawney should , as should Flitwick and McGonagal.

The Dursleys all , and then everyone else lives happily ever after.

Oh, yeah, Voldy gets ed by Harry. Or Voldy s himself! Go mad plots!

Bella snuffs it. So does Wormtail. And Hermione becomes a teacher, just because she's clever.

And, of course, Viktor Krum s (No one dates Hermione other than Harry and gets away with it!).

And maybe a whole load of other people. I dunno. I'm not Trelawney. And half of these s probrably won't happen.

But Hary not !

The books follow Harry's perspective. How would an epilogue be possible if Harry s?

Foxy from nowhereinparticular:

I am curious, why should Flitwick, McGonagall, and Trelawney ?

I am sure that evil Snape is going to and another evil Voldermont is going to too. But the question is how're they going to ? I think Harry is going to Snape on his way to hunting down horcuxes. Why am I so sure? Look at the dermination on Harry's face on the cover of ly Hollows. The boy no longer has mercy, like he said if he finds Snape on the way, lucky for him. And for Voldermont he's ed almost everybody in harry's life.

Does anyone think its possible that dumbledore didnt actually , but due to the clues being put up and educating people about them, does anyone think J.K. Rowling changed her mind? and maybe dumbledore is confirmed to be in the 7th book, even if it wasnt intended in the first place.
