Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

This all maybe poor comfort to all of us HP fans but I believe that no matter what happens in HP7 Harry Lives. If JKR s him off in the last book so be it.
Not one of us HP geeks ever forget him! As old Albus said, I not be truly gone until none here are loyal to me. The same applies to Harry. There have been 8604 comments sent to this web site alone.

There are literally millions of people connected by this story, energised by the "mystery" made different (better) by our contact with Harry and each other. I'm 57 years old, when I was as young as most of you are, reading was a solitary thing. It was a hard thing to share. Now as if by magic thousands read the same words and feel the same as I about a character or a touching scene, or outrage at the gross injustice of the Dursleys! I won't forget this experience and its value not be diminished one jot by the of the weasley twins or Dobby's inevitable sacrifice. I cry at their wake and drink to their memory.

The editors of the book have described it to be a very emotional book. JKR recently said in an interview that only two major characters . Therefore, at least one of them be a major good guy, very possibly one of the trio.

Wow, Tim. I'm 54 meself, and have advanced degrees in literature (which some people think would make me not like Harry Potter, and others think I shouldn't) though I have no idea why that would be so, and I think you are totally right. I like to go right back to the beginning sometimes, that forlorn little boy. The universal image we all relate to, the neglected child....and Hagrid, bigger than life itself, with a birthday cake in his pocket!

Harry cannot be a horcrux. Voldemort has to make a horcrux, and therefor didnt get the opportunity to make a horcrux the night harry d. Also he wouldn't be so quick to Harry if that scar represented a piece of his own soul.

No the Scar represents Voldemort marking harry as his 'equal.' We know that "power the dark lord knows not" is love. But it could also mean that the dark lord is unaware that he bestowed a bit of his power into the boy.

Also id like to mention something that i'm curious about more-so than who s... I want to know who, if anyone is CONCIEVED. There be a wedding very soon, and weddings are known for their power to bring more than one couple together. Jo has also created this huge fantastic cast of characters that span generations. So while I do wonder who s in this seventh book, I must confess i'm more curious to see a birth...

I reckon that Harry and Voldemort , i think that that's the way that JK want to finish it.

Ive been thinking a bit and I reckon that at present day Hogwarts, there is a kind of representation with the old Hogwarts (When James and Sirius were there)It seems that;

Harry - represents James, who marries Lily (Ginny) and ends up .
Ron - represents Sirius (James' best friend)they do everything together.
Hermione - (Kind of) represents Lupin, theyre both intelligent, and seem to know what to do and what's right.
Neville - represents Pettigrew (JK says this in PoA)and everyone thinks he s but then he comes back and joins the bads.

Wen you think about it, this doesnt actually seem too far-fetched, I hope Im wrong though, because it would mean Neville sells Harry to Voldemort... and (God forbid) Harry s.

I think that Hagrid is going to because he is the only person that Harry can confide in apart from Ron, Hermione and Ginny. Many people are saying Ron and Hermione are going to , but I beg to differ. I think they are meant to be(and be)together. I also think that one of the Weasleys is going to . Thinking that all the Weasleys survive is too much too hope for. I think it may be Mrs. Weasley, Charlie or Percy since Arthur, Bill and Ginny have had their fair share of trouble and it's higly unlikely that Fred or George .
Whatever it is, time tell!

I think that in the 7th book, the following people ;

*Dumbledore, I reckon that if he didn't in HBP then he'll in DH.
*Wormtail, he'll do his bit in protecting Harry because Dumbledore said that he is in Harry . (In the 4th book he says to Voldemort, 'It could be done without Harry Potter sir,' going on to say 'My Lord I do not say this out of concern for the boy, he means nothing to me, nothing at all.' I think that Wormtail is lying and that he is trying to protect Harry.

I think that sirius is not either, although he won't in the 7th book.

I saw JK Rowling interviewed last night by Jonathan Ross. When asked if she would ever write any more Harry Potter books she said she couldn't say never because she might want to revisit "that world" in say ten year's time...but she thought it would be unlikely. She said Harry's story comes to a "pretty clear end".

This makes me very worried that she has ed Harry off...and that he at the end of DH....

She also said that more than two characters ...at one point she said "it's a blood bath"...but later seemed to retract that.....Oh dear...doesn't look good.

I just hope none of the trio .
the people i feel might are Hagrid, Lupin, and maybe Tonks too amonst the members of the Order.
Amongst the weasleys, Percy would Pay for his dirty behavior, i just feel the Twins should either together (maybe saving ginny) or both survive, whatever happens they shouldn't be separated!
Oh, SNAPE! He certainly prove his loyalty to dumbledore, and definitly play a great role in destroying the horcruxes. He might as well during the process.
Neville should get Bellatrix, atleast hit her with a proper hex.
VOLDY SHOULD DIE, else the potter books go to waste.

I think Harry was a Hocrux, but like someone said before, he stopped beeing one in GoF when Voldemort used Harry's blod. Ron be ed by Bellatrix, maybe trying to safe Hermione. But I think Hermione leave, but in this book we'll find out a really important secret about her. Maybe Voldemort s Lucius or Narcissa, and that make Draco turn to the good side. I think Neville fights against Bellatrix and she s him, but then Harry gets revange for Sirius, Ron and Neville and s her. Wormtail be ed by Voldemort when he finds out about the Life Debt. For me Snape is a good-guy he s saving Harry, because he loved Lily. Maybe a werewolves battle be interesting, I think Fenrir and Remus both fighting. Hagrid won't , nobody can him! JK says Krum reappear, so I think he for Hermione, after Ron does. I don't think Dumbledore is alive, even though I want to, but he help Harry it could be via portrait.

JK said that one muggle do magic, but it wouldn't be Petunia. So it could be Dudley, who I think making Petunia tell Harry all he knows aboy Lily.

And what be of the Weasleys...
They are to many to survive, but I already said what I thought about Ron, now the rest of the family.
Or Arthur or Molly , like Molly said in OotP, when she was with Remus after the boggart. About Bill I just think he have wolf-like manners, but won't be a werewolf. By the twins, it would be really hard for George losse Fred, and Fred losse George, but I think Fred , JK loves drama. Percy come back alive.

I think the professor be Draco. Professor Malfoy, teaching Potions.

And about JK saying what five characters she invite to dinner, well that was before she added two new s in the DH.

Tim from St Louis Mo: I'm really sad about Harry Potter and the ly Hallows, and I have many fears. But like you say Harry and his fantastic world won't be truly gone until none here are loyal to them, and we all in Beyond Hogwarts are truly loyal to all Harry's world.
