Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Who Lives and Who Dies?

We know for sure that some characters are going to die in Deathly Hallows. Last year in an interview, J.K. Rowling said that two characters die who she had not originally thought would die in the end of the story. That means at least two characters die, but probably more. And that's probably not counting Harry and/or Voldemort. So who lives and who dies? Tell us who you think will die, and more importantly, why you think so.

I don't think that Ron or Hermione are going to . I think they're going to end up getting married and having a baby named Harry (because harry s).

i think one of the two, either ron or hermione, . i love to see the three of them together but i think that's what rowling do.

Joe - That's the question of the decade, isn't it? I would think that Severus would be a rook, maybe, but on which side? The only pieces that are mentioned in the scene are Hermione Rook, Ron Knight, Harry Bishop, the other black knight, the white queen and the white king. The fate of the other specific pieces are unknown, so we can't really tell where Severus would be or if he survives.

I'm actually a bit disturbed at the number of people who "hope" Percy . Percy was one of the family until he walked out. Molly and, yes, even Arthur love him, even if they aren't on speaking terms. Imagine how Arthur would feel if Percy s and they never made up? How distraught do you think Molly would be if that happened? I have been concerned for quite some time about Percy's survival, but if he does , I hope he is able to reconcile with his family first.

What about OLLIVANDER? He is the reason over half of the wizard world has their wands. Will he be mentioned in ly Halllows? He could be one of the two people who s, I hope not, but we need to know what happened to him since he was so important to the wizard world.

Monkeeshrines: I certainly don't want Percy to . In fact, I think he honorably defending a family member. He didn't seem to be particularly close to any sibling except maybe Ron (who he shared a room with) or Ginny (CoS). If I had to guess, I would say he attempt to save his mum or dad, successful or unsuccessfully.

Some Weasley's have to . There are just too many of them for JKR to ignore. I can see one of the twins for the other. Fred seems to be the leader with George the follower. Fred would most likely be able to survive better without George so I could see JKR offing George.

I can't see the Neville connection as well. Neville doesn't have the ss to defeat Voldemort, but I could see him stepping up to Bellatrix (family honor). I'm not even sure he be the one to come back as a teacher at Hogwarts. JKR said it is someone we wouldn't suspect so Neville is too obvious.

why do so many people think percy ? he's not even a main character.

I love the Weasley twins. And i don't want any one of them to . They are my favorite set of characters, after the trio.

Snape's role in the chess game was vague, which I think was meant to be. intentionally made Severus' side as unthinkable - is he on the good or the bad side?

And I don't think Harry and Voldemort due to Avada Kedavra, that they curse to each other... Priori Incantatem remember? I think Harry use another wand to end him (Snape's wand). Or maybe someone help Harry finish off Voldy.

People who i think fight for honor (and probably ): Neville against Bellatrix, Lupin against Greyback, Draco against some Eaters.

To Monkeeshrines- I so agree with you. i also think that Percy cares about his family. he was so worried when ron was held captive in the lake in GoF. Lets hope he comes round because i Have a strong feeling that atleast one of the Weasleys is going to .

To Will from Colorado- Yeah you're right, Dumbledore is that way.

And i dont think that Dumbledore trusted Snape because he felt sorry that he told Voldemort about the Potters.
There's more to it.

I don't think Harry is going to . It's not like he and Voldemort are opposite forces whose destiny it is to negate each other. No Mister Smith and Neo kindof ending. It's in the prophecy as well. Neither can live while the other survives (or something like it).

Who s then? Snape'll for sure, that's the only way he can be forgiven. He must pay the ultimate price. And I guess one of the Weasleys , although I don't know wich one.

Our heroic treesome survive. We've already lost Dumbledore, I don't think Rowling put us through another traumatising experience like that. One's enough JK, you hear me?!

For all those who have been saying "Priori Incantatem", please see the cover of the book... there are no wands in sight.

Actually...thinking about the chess scene...the white king could be Lucius rather than Voldemort...Harry and Hermione go on to face Snape's challenge after the chess game, and finally Harry goes on alone to face Voldemort...but when he meets Quirrell/Voldemort, there's quite a lot of dialogue about Snape...Quirrell explaining that Snape was trying to protect Harry not him....foreshadowing?

However silly Percy is being he's still one of the family...and his parents not stop loving him....could he be "nitwit" of oddment, blubber, nitwit and tweak?

i think one of the trio . it is a horrible thought but we can't expect all of them to survive. also i think lupin or hagrid . snape may or may not .
