Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions
Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. What mystery are you most looking forward to being answered, and how do you think it will come out?

To Intensekitty: Lily was muggle born, so she was the unique witch/wizard in her house. I think to rememeber that the Ministry of Magic can detect magic from under-aged witches-wizards, that would be the explanation.
A question: why no one talks about the fact that wormtail was always trying to spy Snape in his house, at the beggining og HBP? That could be a signal of the distrust of Voldemort against Snape, sending Wormtail to spy him...If so, is quite meaningful.
Another question: How the Order of the Phoenix the eaters? They don´t hate too much to make a AK curse, as they didn´t do it in Hogwarts (HBP)? Perhaps they send them to Azkaban, with no dementors...Will Harry, Ron, Hermione or Ginny or Neville do so against Voldemort? They can´t, you have to be mean and have too much hate inside, also lot of practise and power. I only see Snape as the one who do it.

J.K. Rowling said that sirius's meant something, and think about it, as i was reading the 5th book over again, i came to wonder why sirius didnt immetly say yes when harry asked him to move in if he wasnt allowed back in hogwarts. maybe he said that because he knew he wasnt going to be around for long because he had to do something which would require him never seeing harry again. maybe sirius d on purpose. he was provoking bellatrix lestrange while they were dueling, there was a reason for that. every wizard knows not to provoke someone during a ly duel! the book says that a red ray of light came from bellatrix's wand, and it hit him in the chest. so we know hes not , just stunned, (a green ray would mean the avade kedavra curse) and the book also says it took him an age to fall, maybe he was trying to fall towards the curtain.

I really wonder what happened to Harry's grandparents. His parents weren't that old when they d; presumably his grandparents should still be alive. We hear about Neville's grandmother, but never anything about Harry's, not even through Aunt Petunia (you'd think she'd have mentioned her mother or father through the years). It seems that the nearest relative for him to have lived with when his parents d would have been his parents' parents, like in Neville's case. Maybe Dumbledore's Harry's grandpa? (probably wishful thinking.)
I also would like to know if the Mirror of Erised be used again in Book 7. Dumbledore didn't say that the mirror was going to be taken away from Hogwarts; he just said that it would be moved and that Harry would be best not to look for it. Maybe Harry can find it in the Room of Necessity...

Well... One question that I want answered is about Harry's and Voldemort's birthdates... In book 4, Trelawney is telling Harry that he was surely born under the influence of Saturn... great losses and stuff... and then she says that he was surely born in midwinter. Obviously, Harry answers that he was born at the end of July. OK... the thing is, who do we know that was born in midwinter? VOLDEMORT, of course! The thing is, why would Trelawney perceive stuff from Harry that fits Woldemort better? I mean, I know Trelawney is no true "seer", but... it makes you wonder.

Okay, so i have like a millllion questions.
On one of the covers of the 7th book (I think that it might be the England one) Harry, Ron and Hermione are in like a pile of treasures you could say. But I noticed (while inspecting the cover) that there are two large brown ears and a sword or dager right behind Harry. A House Elf in other words. Is this Dobby, trying to help them, or Kreacher trying to them, Winky, evenging her Master's (I think Crouch d) or perhaps, a new house elf that no one knows?

Carl from Birmingham, England:
You are correct in saying Harry doesn't have the magical knowledge to find and destroy the horcrux. That is where Hermione and Ron come in play. Hermione has been taking all the classes that help Harry, especially Ancient Runes and Arithmancy. Ron's knowledge of the wizard world muggle Hermione and orphaned, isolated Harry don't know come into play as well. Then Harry use his natural born instincts putting all their talents to use.

This thread is really interesting, Zoe makes a good observation...perhaps since Draco means dragon, and we do not know who all of the animagi are, he could be the dragon on the deluxe cover of the next book...maybe he realizes this ability in book 7...also jkr hides clues on her website...if you head to the "rubbish" section, there is a tea cup in the upper right hand corner that you can move slightly if you click and hold, this makes it a bit easier to read the peculiar piece of paper underneath where main characters are organized in a tree...if you look carefully it says "Found ...at the bottom and a tile with a spider on it is next to this, MAYBE this hints that Ron, notoriously afraid of spiders, be one of those who s. It is quite intriguing, there are also some other riddles on this site, if anyone has noticed anything else i'd be interested in knowing!

Tirnanog - Concerning Snape's patronus, how about a snake? The idea of an is a augury. I had never thought of what Snape's patronus could be. Interesting question. I would tend to believe it would be something "slippery."

first i want to know the significance of harry's eyes...why are they SO important? can't wait to find that out.
also, how the two mirrors be used and who use them?(well who use them with harry.)
i don't know if this matter much to ppl, but i've been really wanting to know when trelawney get the credit she deserves. i mean she was right about some important things(ex. when she told harry about serious trouble at the lightning struck tower). and she be involved in the 7th?
where did fawkes go? he come back?
what's worse than ?(OofP)
and last, what was the reason that made dumbledore trust snape all these years?!

Why does Harry have such a hard time suppressing fits of laughter at Dumbledore's ?
In HBP, Harry remembers seeing Dumbledore sending a message by means of Patronus. Does anyone remember when this was and what Dumbledore's Patronus was?

can percy be a spy for the Order of the Phoenix?. somewhere JKR has said that snape is not the only spy.
Also, why in book1 does hagrid say that “There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin”, because they thought that sirius black was the follower of voldemort (as a matter of fact there is peter pettigrew, a bad wizard, who was in Gryffindor)

JK sugests that, "Why did Dumbledore have James' invisability cloak?" would be a good question to ask her...
Logicaly James must have given it to him to enable him to be or go somewhere unnoticed. (just before James d, according to the note.) Could Dumbledore have been at Godricks Hollow as Voldemort showed up? Could he and James have jumped to the opposite conclusion to Vodemort and Dumbledore made his escape to go to protect Neville? with James and Lilly believing that they were still safely hidden themselves?
