Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions

Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. What mystery are you most looking forward to being answered, and how do you think it will come out?

Everyone has such wonderful questions! You think you've noticed everything in the books and then you see some of these posts...shows you what an amazing job J.K. Rowling has done with Harry.

What I want most to know-

Whether Snape DECIDES to be good or evil. Remember, Dumbledore always says it's our CHOICES, and right now, having just ed the most powerful good wizard in the world and the DL's #2 enemy he's The Man in the Eater administration for sure, so, does he do what is easy or what is right? ("Don't call me a coward!"). I think he decide to do what's right, but I can't think it be at all easy to make that decision &/or stick to it. He have some sympathy for Draco on that score too.

-Does Snape live or ?

-Does Hagrid sacrifice himself to save someone, or some creature?

-Is Harry a blood relative of Slytherin (and Griffindor)? I'm interested in there being no problem with him inheriting Grimmauld place and the way Kreacher continually calls Hermione a mudblood, but never says it about Harry? And what about the sorting hat afterall?

-Will Dudley do magic in a pinch, and his parents faint on the spot? Or maybe it be poor old Filch who sent away for
the magic lessons?

-What happens to a pensieve when the owner s?

-and by the way, the question of Dumbledore pouring one of his own memories from a vial is great, I'd missed that-but Snape
had been using the pensieve too, teaching Harry...does that mean there were things Dumbledore DIDN'T trust Snape with? After
all, he never gave him the DADA job -was it only because of the "curse" or to keep him away from temptation?

-Do the Weasleys stay lucky, or does someone from the family , and sure, I'm hoping for Percy, but that's a bit too easy.

-And what about Dragon's blood and its 12 uses and how is Norbert doing in Romania anyway?

So many questions, and so few pages left!

I think we haven't seen the last of the arch or the veil, Dumbledore trusts Hagrid with his life, and also with Harry's, but I think that might mean Hagrid is one of those we lose. The locket at Grimmauld place, yeah, but it's SILVER isn't it, and wasn't the Gaunt necklace gold? As for dragons, the cover of the US deluxe edition of #7 is interesting, is Harry riding a thestral or a dragon? Do you suppose dragons imprint on the first face they see, and how has our Norbert been doing in Romania? And as for Harry's eyes and his mother's and the protection in the family blood? I think Harry may be related to Godric Griffindor, but I also think he is related to Salazar Slytherin. The Chosen One should unite the wizarding world, and a of one of one's own blood is always said to be a unforgiveable thing-something that calls out for justice if not revenge. And wouldn't it be something if it was Dudley who did magic for the first time -Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon would swood away...but I think it's probably Mrs. Figg or Filch. Nice to think we'll know a month from now, and sad at the same time, leaving Hogwarts.

Was it Dumbledore that took Harry to the cave? From the beginning of OotP Dumbledores hand was so painful he couldnt even point with the injured hand or even pull the stopper out of the memory bottles. However prior to going into the cave when Harry and Dumbledore were standing on the edge of the cliff. Dumbledore dived into the water and per Harrys observation said somthing like "with the sudden agility of a much younger man slid from the boulder, landed in the sea and began to swim with a perfect breast stroke". Maybe its nothing but two things are pointed out here. Agility of a much younger man and the fact that his hand didnt seem to bother him doing the breast stroke. He didnt seem botherd at all by his hand.

I have questions like where's draco and snape? if harry is a horcrux, then what if he s himself? who become evil? harry make another order with some of the trusted members of the DA?

To Bareera - I Don't know why Dumbledore would keep that info from Harry or his sibling. He always has different ways of doing things that don't usually make much sense at first glance. Perhaps his sibling was sent to live with a wizarding family, Dumbledore just didn't want Harry to have to grow up famous and get big headed.

And I just thought of something I'd really like to know, What JKR write after this epic is finished? I wouldn't mind a parallel series from someone elses POV, or maybe A different character in the future, maybe one of Harry's descendants (He live to have them right?). Or maybe we go into the past and hear James' story and around the first time Voldemort came to power.

Maybe Dumbledore, himself, was a horcrux! That is why he needed Snape to him, because he knew that Harry would never be able to.

That triumphant glint in Dumbledores eye could have been a part of Voldemort's soul knowing that he exceeded in forgoing a particular barrier!

"I have a speculation from long ago that perhaps Petunia herself got a Hogwarts letter, and freaked out and rejected it, then when Lily got her letter, accepted it and was subsequently adored by their parents for her magical ability, Petunia got jealous."
Monkeeshrines

I agree completely! Thats what I believe happen... It explain JK's 'She's not a Squib exactly...'

"Hepzibah Smith was a descendant of Hufflepuff's (or so she says), but don't we know someone that shares her last name? He's a member of Dumbledore's Army, Zacharias Smith."
Prongs from Athens,Greece

I think you could be spot on with this, although we may never know. They just strike me as possibly being related!

"I heard that JK said something very interesting about who Harry 'end up with' at the end. She says that looking at the online forums, people have touched upon it but no one has really gotten it yet."
Missy from California

When exactly did this occur? I've never heard it, maybe it was awhile ago, before the specualtion on Ginny occurred!

As for my questions, alot of them have been covered. I just hope we get them answered!

Just came to think of it. When Jo says we see one do magic, who we didnt expect to do, does it have to mean it's a muggle or squib? It could be one we belive to be , then we wouldnt expect that person to do any magic...

Refering back to Monkeeshrine's post about 12 Grimmauld Place and the fidelius charm on page 8...Dumbledore was secret keeper for the Order of the Phoenix and the secret he was keeping was that 12 Grimmauld place is their HQ. My understanding is that this means no-one can know that 12 Grimmauld Place is the Order's Head Quarters unless Dumbledore tells them. When Dumbledore s, no-one else can find out that Grimmauld Place is the order's HQ but to my mind that doesn't mean that the house itself cease to exist when the secret keeper s...afterall, things can have more than one identity. 12 Grimmauld place could be known to some people as the house where Sirius's family lived without them having any idea that it is OoTP HQ. I suppose Bellatrix and Narcissa might know it as such, as would Tonks's mother. Presumably they could still find the house but not know it as OotP HQ. I don't think the house fade and cease to exist with the of the secret keeper. Similarly, if the locket has been disguised using the fidelius charm, then by your reasoning, it should be fading, as RAB has been at least 15 years by now. This could be why Harry didn't recognise it retrospectively but I don't think this is the case. I think the disguise continue ad infinitum...unless, as you suggest, someone has powerful enough magic to break the charm...OR some way of communicating with the ...hence Sirius's mirror...and Dumbledore too is now on the other side of the archway...

Wizzard11 said that maybe Lily and Petunia are Voldemorts half sisters and thats why Lily neednt have d.

well in the Gof Voldemort ed his own father so he wouldnt have spared Lily just because she was his sister.

I think that the fact that the Harry Potter series is a septology could also have something to do with the fact that there are seven Weasley siblings.

I've got another rumor. Well for this to be likley R.A.B. has to be Regulus Black. You know how the basin or whatever of potion that nearly ed dumbledore. Well it aparently didnt regulus. Anyway I think regulus avoided this by bringing Kreature with him to drink the potion. In the GOF Winky starts drinking a lot of butter beer and get drunk but if a wizard drank that much nothing would happen. Could the the houselves noyt be affected by the potion while wizards are?
