Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions

Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. What mystery are you most looking forward to being answered, and how do you think it will come out?

The triumph in Dumbledore's eyes when Harry tell's him about Voldemort using his blood. Could this be the reason that Harry and Voldemort seem connected in Order of the Phoenix?

I too would like to know why Hermione spends so little time with her parents and why for such an honest and upfront girl she tells her parents in OotP that everyone who is serious about their exams are staying at Hogwarts for Christmas - implying but not saying exactly to her parents that she is going to stay at Hogwarts, but then promptly running off to 12 Grimmauld Place.

Snape of course, so many questions that I wouldn't know where to begin - I just want to know everything about him and please please please let him be good.

I want to know if there is more to McGonagall, maybe I am just a suspicious person but I don't trust her an inch. But I may be reading things that are not there.

I NEED to know if Lily was a Seer - I hope I discover that Harry has an ability like this.

What did exactly happen to Dumbledore's hand?
What exactly did happen on the lightning struck tower.
What did Dudley hear during the dementor attack?
What is it about aunt Petunia?

Oh so many questions....

Oscar, your 6th question regarding Secret Keeper.

I may be mistaken but I am under the belief that when the Secret Keeper s the secret stays with them. This would mean all Order members who know the location of 12 Grimmauld Place still be able to go there - but no new members would be able to find it as only Dumbledore could reveal it. I suspect they would have to find a new headquarters and a new Secret Keeper if they recruited more members.

what happened to the bond created between wormtail and harry in the 3rd book? and if Harry has to ultimately duel with Voldemort won't prori incantatem take place again?

I also think that the Mirror of Erised play an extremely important role. It helped Harry beat Voldemort once, and then it was moved out of the school. I think it help Harry find the horcruxes because they are what Harry truly desires.

Why did Harry not see the wierd winged horse things until his fifth year? Cedric was not the first person he saw . He was only a year old, but his parents d right in front of him.

I'd also like to learn more about Petunia and, of course, the black veil.

Along with many of the mysteries people have already brought up, I have a question about some possible long-term justice...Tom Riddle is the reason Hagrid was expelled. What role Hagrid play in Voldemort getting his just desserts (if he does)?

what about hedwig (harrys owl)? didn't everyone think she was Dumbledore? and did Lilly and Lupin have something?

Posted by Liz T on June 23, 2007 7:43 PM

there are so many of these questions that i can write a book about them...

Can some one really come back From the Veil?
serius's animagi form help him?
where all the fights end?
why do only some wizards become ghosts?

Dumbledore stuns Moody (Crouch Jr) in the chapter Veritaserum of GOF.. He sends Snape to bring Veritaserum and Winky... How could Dumbledore have guessed that Moody was Crouch Jr? There was no clue leading towards that... Crouch Jr was believed to be ... Dumbledore is impressing me more and more...

The "gleam of triumph" when Dumbledore comes to know that Voldy has used Harry's blood to come back. This is going to be very crucial...

Gloria, I've thought the same thing about allowing Hagrid justice for being framed by Riddle. I hope he gets the opportunity.

What I'm most curious about finding out was why there was that gleam of triumph in Dumbledore's eyes when Harry told him about Voldemort using his blood to regenerate a body and if it play a significant role at the end.

Everyone talks about what curses Harry use to Voldemort but I'm wondering if that gleam of triumph means that the blood shared by Harry and Voldemort be what enables Harry to vanquish Voldemort and how he do it.

Cecilia - Harry did not see his parents . Quote from JK taken from the 2004 Edinburgh Book Festival:

Harry did not see his parents . He was one year old and in a cot at the time. Although you never see that scene, I wrote it and then cut it. He didnt see it; he was too young to appreciate it.

Hope that helps.
