Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions

Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. What mystery are you most looking forward to being answered, and how do you think it will come out?

Do you know what that ruined setting on DH cover is? I think I knowits Hogwarts undergrounds! The stony arch gates in the background are that of Quidditch arena. Compare the picture on DH to the 1st book cover art.

A parallel presumed, could Harry be reaching up to catch the Golden Snitch?! (a horcrux?!)

Also notice how Mary GrandPre did something ingeniousthe same curtains in both, signaling the beginning and end of the series!

What's the story behind something at St. Mungos? And Harry broke the two-way mirror Sirius gave him by throwing it into the bottom of his trunk.

I reckon Aberforth come to the forefront, Snape isn't evil, he's just a nasty person and R.A.B is Regulus Black. Also, I think the real locket Horcrux is at the Order headquarters, because when they were cleaning it at the start of book 5 they found a 'large, heavy locket that none of them could open'.

dumbledore knew that riddle was voldemort because he says in one of the memories in HBP that "rumours of your doings have reached your old school, tom" page 415 and voldermort asked for the meeting and dumbledore knew things that voldermort didnt think he would e.g. the eaters in the pub!

Raghav - what an interesting idea! The green liquid in the pensieve that contained the locket/horcrux could have been someone else's memories? Then were they Dumbledore's or Voldemort's? Or possibly RAB's? Since this is described as green liquid and a pensieve usually has swirling gas/liquid the similarity wasn't there, but maybe it is a function of the container? I wonder if we find out the answer?

Swati and Faye - Dumbledore did seem to keep an eye on Voldemort always and probably had a pretty good idea that he had opened the Chamber of Secrets and recruited the early eaters to do horrible things, so he wouldn't let his guard down. But Slughorn? He does seem to track his former students and their careers, just so he can use them to help his new batch of Slug Club recruits, but it would be interesting to know how he was able to track Voldemort. Maybe he has an idea what Voldemort wants in Hogwarts and is trying to hide from him? Voldemort used him as a source of information before.

What happen to luna? i believe that she is a very important character... Afetr all, there's is a chapter with her name!

If Hogwarts reopens and Harry attends for some of it, I thnik Aberforth may be the new DADA teacher!

Also-an unanswered movie question- I wonder if Bill and Charlie ever appear as more than a Daily Prophet photo? I just saw an add for OotP and at the Christmas dinner there was only Mr and Mrs Weasley, Fred, George, Ginny and Ron. If the other 2 aren't in it now, what's this mean for the wedding scene, is it not as important as we thought?

In the 1st book, Hagrid tells Harry that a car crash couldn't lilly and james potter, and goes on to describe them and says that they were head boy and girl. Then in OOTP, Lupin tells harry that he got the prefects badge and James never did, so then how did James become head boy?

Is there another reason that Filch hates students?
Is the house Slughorn was in Hepzibah Smith's old house, maybe Voldi--thingy, hid the locket there?

What is Jo going to do with Harry to get away the temptation of an eighth book, that no journalist reveal at once to the whole world?

Two suggestions:
- Harry is deprived from his magical powers, and no more a wizard.
- Harry goes back to the past, and becomes someone else.

As long as I think that Dumbledore be present in DH, and at the end, go back seven years earlier, using his own time-turner, maybe Harry could go with him (a revival of "Back to the Future" with Dumbledore as Doc and Harry as Marty). Of course, in this case, Harry cannot remain Harry: he has to become someone else. Why not a hairy bass player in the "Weird sisters" wizarding group?

i cannot imagine any of the goos utilizing a ing curse.
harry (if the plot goes this way) obviously use "the power the dark lord knows not" love.
it is the only power that harry, and the rest of the good side know more about then voldermort and the eaters.
im just crossing my fingers they all dont end up messed up and sadistic.

lilies eyes probably have something to do with the sacrifice she made for harry?
i hardly see alot of people coming back.
although if you look up hallows it can mean people crossing from the other side (the veil). ill find the definition

the Oct. 31 Greater Sabbat, also called November Eve, the Celtic Samhain (sow-en); the beginning of the Celtic winter, and of the Celtic year; the beginning of the Witches Year, when the Veil Between the Worlds grows thin and the spirits of the may return to Earth; the Descent of the Goddess to the Underworld; the final Harvest festival.

but i cannot see jk rowling ruining an amazing story with alot of resurrections,
might be a bit too "bold and the beautiful"

grawp, slughorn and rita skita are also yet to play there part in the story, so im interested in what that be.

RAB, im positive its aberforth, or amy benson that voldermort took into the cave,

its so exciting! eleven days.

Oh my goodness. In one of the Sorting Hat's songs it mentioned that it used to belong to Godric Gryffindor. But Dumbledore said in Book VI that the only known relic of Gryffindor's is the sword. He is surely mistaken?
Look at the Sorting Hat. It has a mind of it's own, it can think for itself. Godric's horcrux, possibly?

MMC- Bill and Charlie didn't make an appearance in the new movie. And Percy was in it for like 5 seconds. It was very disappointing!
