Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions

 Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. I think that Harry cannot Voldemort with the Avada Kedavra, since it is a forbidden curse but, we know from GOF that Aurors are allowed to use ing curses, so I think Harry starts receiving auror training and uses this training to defeat Voldemort. I think this was hinted at in GOF when Moody/Bartie Crouch tells Harry that he would make an excellent auror. Later in the GOF, he tells Hermione the same thing...which leads me to suspect that Hermione also goes on to become an auror. In OOP, when Voldemort is resurrected, he compares his muggle father to Harry's muggle mother and then boasts about how his father was able to assist him even after . I think this was an important foreshadowing...somehow Lily manages to reach beyond the grave to help Harry. Dumbledore is , and Snape did him. some people have suggested that it was a different curse that he used though and not really the Avada Kedavra, but it does say that it was green light that came out of the wand and hit him...and the only time I've seen the green light mentioned is with the ing curse. However, I am not convinced that Sanpe did it ingly and hopefully we'll find out what that was all about in book 7.

I want to know why magic which can be used to grow bones, shrink teeth, etc. cannot fix vision problems. Harry Potter's eyeglasses has always bothered me in the series. I understand eyeglasses are a metaphor for unclear understanding (Harry's inability to see passed the obvious); but if teeth can be fixed, vision problems should be a breeze.
I want to know why Dumbledore didn't consider the Sorting Hat as Gryffindor relic even though the Hat originally belonged to him.
Lastly, I want to know what is hidden behind the tapestry in the Black house. Is it the locket or is it a door/passageway to somewhere important in the book? Posted by Linda from Fort Wayne, IN on July 5, 2007 12:03 PM

I wonder about the Unbreakable Vow between Narcissa & Snape made in Chapter 2 of the HBP. I know snape is a good guy so i wonder if he still have to look over draco to live. anyone have any ideas on that? Posted by Snuffles&Moo; on July 5, 2007 12:29 PM

In the Order of The Phoenix, all the Time Turners are apparently destroyed, but why bother mentioning that? I think Dumbledore has gone forward in time and left messages to help the future Harry. And who was the greatest dark wizard before Voldemort? They keep going on about the fact he's the most powerful dark wizard for 100 years. Was it Grindelwald? correct me if im wrong but when the AK curse is done on someone they crumple to the ground but in dumbledores case he flew off the tower. i am not denying that dumbledore is because the fall would him, but saying was it supposed to be an act because we know that snape made spells (or his mother did) so is it possible that he made a spell that looked like the AK curse but have a different effect but everything went wrong. i know he said avada kadavra but he could have said a different spell in his head that overote the AK curse.

The emphasis on love and how Harry can understand and is affected by it may be used as a weapon against Harry...
Imagine Harry's reaction if an Inferius using Cedric Diggory's corpse (Or even his own parents') was used to play Harry's emotions and weaken his resolve.
Also, I can't fathom the idea of Voldemort simply ing people. For someone so evil and heartless, he must have ulterior motives beyond genocide and world dominion (Who there be to conquer after everyone's ?). Regardless, his desire for power and self preservation blinds him, and I have my doubts that Harry . Voldemort be conquered. I mean, what kind of 'Children's book' would this be if the story ended with everyone , and Voldemort standing on a hill someone laughing? Posted by Josh from CT on July 5, 2007 3:50 PM
The flying motorbike is obviously in Arthur Weasley's collection of muggle artifacts. JKR has told us that time turners are NOT important in the final chapters, that Albus is definitely DEAD (at least on this side of the veil) and that the two way mirror WILL play apart in the continuing story. My list of questions yet to be answered includes:
Snape? I consider everything about him to be a question.
Why did Voldemort give Lily a chance to live? We are told over and over that she had the choice.
When and how Percy redeem himself?
What new torture has JKR got in mind for Rita Skeeter?
We all presume that the final book wil take place over the final year but it may start then and cover a much longer time span. (Page 607 UK HBP) "Whether in a month a year or ten".
