Final Deathly Hallows Debates: Unanswered Septology Questions

 Like Hogwarts Castle itself, the Harry Potter books hold many mysteries, and have many hidden secrets. Hopefully, most of these mysteries will be answered in the final book. Is something funny going on at St. Mungos? What ever happened to Sirius' two-way mirrors? Where is Fawkes? There are so many others. Harry always returns to school in September. In PS/SS Harry is visited by Hagrid on his birthday, but he spends a further month with the Dursleys before going off to Hogwarts. Uncle Vernon takes great delight in showing Harry there is no platform nine and three quarters. In CoS Dobby comes to the house on Harry's birthday - the same day that Uncle Vernon tries to makes his important drill deal. A few days later Ron & his brothers rescue Harry and he spends the rest of his holidays at the Burrow before going to Hogwarts at the beginning of September.
Snape's patronus. The suggestion I have heard that I believe to be a good one is the 'augury' - also known as the Irish Phoenix. I think you can find details of this bird in Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. If Snape's patronus were an Irish Phoenix it would almost 100% guarantee that Snape was good, as obviously Dumbledore and Phoenix go together hand in hand. I thought that maybe Dumbledore could be an animagus for a bumblebee. First of all, if he is one of the greatest wizards of all time, wouldn't it make sense he would be an animagus? Secondly, before he was a headmaster, Dumbledore was the transfiguration professor. Lastly, with the exception of Draco Malfoy, anyone who's name is a Latin variation of an animal is an animagus of that animal. (sirius = dog) (lupus = wolf) and dumbledore means bumble bee. the one question i want to know the answer to is how harry destroy the horcruxes. we already know how dangerously the locket was protected and that marvolo's ring was cursed and dumbledore only managed to destory that although it could have ed him and harry doesn't even have half the magical power dumbledore has. herve - You're right, the dementors cause Harry to hear Lily, "James" and Voldemort, and no green light is mentioned. Actually nothing is mentioned as far as him seeing anything. He doesn't "see" Lily being ed, he hears her plead and he hears Voldemort tell her to stand aside. Nothing is "seen" from what I understand, green light or anything.
thermos - Everyone thought Sirius was the Secret Keeper, but he was not. Peter was. As far as why they didn't make one of themselves the Secret Keeper, well, I reckon it's because they did eventually want to be found when the danger was passed. If they were their own Secret Keeper, they would not be able to tell anyone where they were, and they would remain hidden for the rest of time, or would "cease to exist" for all intents and purposes (unless a very powerful someone was able to break the charm; see my comment page 8 and Joe's response page 9 for more details.) if i believe correctly in the first book when hagrid was talking about harry's scar i believe he said "thats no ordinary cut on your forehead harry, that type of scar comes from the most darkest of magic" im thinking that this hints that harry's scar is a horcrux because we were told that the most darkest magic is creating a horcrux...

ashely i think you are right. aunt petunia give harry the address of godric hollow i think dudley can do magic. maybe aunt petunia only agreed to keep harry if he placed enchantment on dudley so his magic won't show. that's why aunt petunia never wanted him upset. uncle vermon did not know about this. and dumbledore mentioned this in the howler that if they throw harry out he lift the enchantment.

Heather from Charlevoix: harry doesn't go to Hogwarts in July in any of the books. in book 1 Hagrid takes him to buy his stuff for school then he returns to the Dursleys till the Sept 1 when they drop him off at the train station. in book 2 Ron and the twins break him out of the dursleys's house on his birthday and he goes to the burrow for the rest of the summer. in book 3 he he runs away and stays at the laky caulron till september. in book 4 he goes to the burrow so that he can go to the Quiddich world cup. in book 5 the order picks his up and he stays at headquarters till September. and in book 6 he is picked up by Dumbledore and then taken to the burrow. So as you see he never went to school on his birthday.
thermos from Edmonton: Sirius was never the secret keeper.... he was going to be, but at the last minute he had them switch and make wormtail the secret keeper. Snape's patronus...that's an interesting thought...the most obvious would be a spider...but if Tonk's patronus became a werewolf (which is what I think happened though it's never explicitly said, it's just described as big and fourlegged and Harry assumes it is Sirius's animagus form...a big black dog, but Tonks actually loved Lupin) and Harry's is a Stag (which was his father's form as an animagus) then perhaps Snape's patronus is something to do with Lily?

My sister and I have decided that we are going to read the entire series again before ly Hallows is released. We were reading Sorcerers Stone and we'd completely forgotten that Snape once referreed one of Gryffindor's Quiddich matches.
But you know what I was wondering? Whatever happened to the Mirror of Erised? And did Quirrel ever actually ? Dumbledore said that Voldemort had fled his body, leaving him for , but I don't think he said that Quirrel was actually ? Could he have been taken to Azkaban? i want to know what part the mirror of erised play.because reading another comment someone said that ersied is desire spelled backwords well if you take the whole thing from book one its ERISED STRA EHRU OYT UBE CAFRU OYT ON WOHSI. now backwards with spaces in diffrent spots. I was reading the rest of the comments and I remembered something else that had struck me as odd. In Sorcerers Stone, Hagrid gets, Norbert the Norweigan Ridgeback. Isn't the dragon that Harry has to get the golden egg from in Goblet Of Fire a Norweigan Ridgeback as well? Given the time lapse of almost four years, the dragon Harry wen tup against could very well be Norbert.
1) It says in the first book that Norbert tripled in size in only a week or two, so Norbert would be big enough to be Harry's dragon 2) Harry's dragon doesn't have to be a girl to be guarding the eggs. For all we know, it could be the male dragon that takes care of them while the female abandons them all, just like seahorses. 3) There is no proof that Norbert was even a male at all. Hagrid names him Norbert, and we assume he knew it was male. But how do you tell the sex of a dragon? It could be like alligators, where you literally have to stick your finger up its rear end to find out. Perhaps, Hagrid didn't know how to tell the dragon's gender and just guessed?
