Dumbledore Is Not !
 by David Haber
Well... maybe not. At least, I don't think he is. Snape's betrayal and the of Dumbledore caught me completely by surprise. Dumbledore was , and on top of that, Snape had done it. And all of the clues point to two possibilities, that Dumbledore's not really , or at the very least, that Snape's not really a Eater, and he Dumbledore because Dumbledore ordered him to, as part of a grand plan.

It's a pretty common and natural reaction, wanting to somehow turn things back. Sorry. I'm such a wet blanket about this, but I'm quite sure Dumbledore is .
And I'd really have to question Dumbledore returning as a ghost, Mike from Bridgeport. Not after what Nearly Headless Nick has to say on the subject of ghosthood at the end of OOTP. That he was afraid to and that he is neither here nor there, that he knows nothing about . That is the antithesis of Dumbledore's attitude to . Dumbledore may have felt some sorrow at the knowledge that he was leaving Harry to face things alone, but that is not fear of itself, nor would it lead him to do as Nick did and refuse . I just can't see Dumbledore refusing the "next great adventure". Posted by Elizabeth from Australia on March 22, 2007 07:29 AM
This site is the best! I really thought that AD was but im beggining to have second thoughts. I can't wait till the 7th book! Posted by Andrew from Arkansas on March 23, 2007 11:43 AM
Dumbledore is Alive. Well he is but like Aslan (from Narnia) he comes back. Now I know that its been mentioned that its not possible to come back to life, but Dumbledore is no ordinary Wizard. Even Voldermort is scared of Dumbledore like the white witch was scared of Aslan. We are told that we are going to learn something about Aunt Purtunia so I think that Aunt Petunia may in fact be Lilly and Harrys REAL mother. Lilly d to save Harry just like Aslan d to save Edmund and has been drink polyjuice potion. Another theroy is that Maybe Dumbledore is James. Think about when the secret keeper was changed to peter maybe dumbledore got word that Peter betrayed James(through Legilimens) and got to the house before voldemort and persuaded James to take his form and dumbledore took James's form. Since writing my comments I was thinking that maybe I should expand on my theroy of Aunt Purtunia being Lilly. Here is the reason I think this.
Why would a sister who hates her sister and Husband (Lilly and James) agree to take their son/ her Nephew (Harry)? My suspicion is that its because Lilly has been posing as Aunt purtunia (under polyjuice potion) and Dumbledore is James again under polyjuice for the reason I said in my earlier post. Who Dudley and Uncle Vernon are I don't know.
This may seem far fetched by the way they've treated Harry over the years however, Aunt Purtunia told Uncle Vernon that Harry is to stay after the demontors attacked Dudley, Vernon wanted to throw Harry out. Maybe some kind of Magical Powers influanenced. She got a letter from Dumbledore saying remember my last. Its just an idea. Posted by James from London,UK on March 24, 2007 7:21 PM
Trelawney not at someone mentioned. Answer possible the eaters have her "We found the eaters minutes later, heading in the Direction of the astronomy tower." chapter 29 the phoenix lament, uk edition page 576 Posted by gordon from uk on March 26, 2007 12:13 AM
I dont agree with this.. I really think dumbledore d, but i also think he did it for some reason... Probably he has come up with some brilliant idea to protect Harry. But maybe Dumbledore has even more secrets and found another way to live... And the phoenix did act funny! Snape was really bad after all! I dont believe they made it just look like Dumbledore d... Snape really ed his body! But even without Dumbledore harry probably survive! Posted by Tineke from Groningen, The Netherlands on March 26, 2007 07:43 AM
He's , but he d on purpose. Maybe he d so he could protect harry with another powerfull spell, just like lilly did. An extra protection of love, so harry can fight and vanquish Voldemort. Posted by Charlotte from Netherlands on March 26, 2007 1:29 PM
Just a thought (and maybe this has already been mentioned) - but isn't Voldermort's mother a Squib?
In the HBP chapter 'The House of Gaunt' - Gaunt taunts Merope when Ogden helps repair the broken pot "Lucky the nice man from the Ministry's here, isn't it? Perhaps he'll take you off my hands, perhaps he doesn't mind dirty Squibs..."
So this means Voldemort was the son of a muggle and a squib - Merope would have had access to the love potion being in the wizarding world to make Riddle fall in love with her - Not sure if this means anything but i thought it was interesting. Okay, I still think that Dumbledore was unhappy when he d. I explain myself in the following statements: J.K. Rowling never explained how unhappy a person had to be to become a ghost. Dumbledore's finger was magically charred, he knew Voldemort was back again, and he had to drunk that elixer, which could have made him depressed. Being how Dumbledore is, he wouldn't have let anyone know. Posted by Michael from Da Port, Connecticut on March 27, 2007 4:35 PM
I don't really remember any time that it was stated that a person became a ghost because the were unhappy. They become ghosts because they are afraid of .
I could be wrong and just not remembering it. But that is how I have always taken it. Posted by Michael Brinkley from Oceanside CA on March 27, 2007 8:14 PM
Jemmi from Melbourne--Merope was a witch but due to her father's constant harrassment (he called her a squib in anger), she couldn't do magic very well. Once her father and brother went to prison, Merope began to ably perform magic.
Once the love potion wore off and Tom Riddle Sr. left Merope, her emotional state prevented her from doing magic or she gave up. Posted by Linda from Fort Wayne, IN on March 29, 2007 11:07 AM
Remember in book 3 at christmas Professor Trelawney said: "I dare not Headmaster! If I join the table, we shall be thirteen! Nothing could be more unlucky! Never forget when 13 dine together, the first to rise be the first to !" Harry and Ron rose first, and so as they havent d yet, Dumbledore, who was also there, should not be . When have Professor Trelawney's predictions ever been wrong? Posted by Evan from Detroit, Michigan on April 2, 2007 05:49 AM
