Dumbledore Is Not !

by David Haber

Well... maybe not. At least, I don't think he is. Snape's betrayal and the of Dumbledore caught me completely by surprise. Dumbledore was , and on top of that, Snape had done it. And all of the clues point to two possibilities, that Dumbledore's not really , or at the very least, that Snape's not really a Eater, and he Dumbledore because Dumbledore ordered him to, as part of a grand plan.

dumbledore could not have d! i believe that it is just an act

Menno - I believe it is Slytherin. The snake plays an important role because I do believe it is a Horcrux. Also, being a partlesmouth always was associated with the Dark Arts but there "is one amoung the good and the great." Therein lies the connection with the Dark Arts.

I beleve that Dumbledore is not because someone had to go get Snape like he had no idea that the eaters were at hogwarts and it seemed that Dumbledore could of escaped, and that it was probably just a fake wand or some thing, and it was a trick to The Dark Lord to make it look like Dumbledore was so that it would look like Harry had no one to protect him, or maybe Dumbledore is an animagus and he be born from the ashes again.

I think what Dumbledore says while he's drinking the potion is really interesting:
"I don't want...Don't make me..." "...don't like...want to stop..." "No..." "I don't want to...I don't want to....Let me go..." "Make it stop, make it stop," "No, no, no, no, I can't, I can't, don't make me, I don't want to..." "It's all my fault," "Please make it stop, I know I did wrong, oh please make it stop and I'll never, never again..." "Don't hurt them, don't hurt them, please, please, it's my fault, hurt me instead..." "Please, please, please, no...not that, not that, I'll do anything..." "No more, please no more..." "I want to ! I want to ! Make it stop, make it stop, I want to ! "KILL ME!" I think what Dumbledore is seeing is Voldemort's memory of Voldemort terrorizing the children in the cave. I think he's seeing Voldemort confessing that it was him who took them to the cave, and that he did something bad to them. In other words, I think Dumbledore is seeing Voldemort's memory of him terrorizing the children, but as a good person, meaning he's says "Don't hurt them,", so instead of being a bad person, Dumbledore is seeing him as a good person in this memory. Or, Dumbledore could have seen a memory of himself with someone threatening his family, but the one about Voldemort is more likely because where he was when he drank this potion was near the place where the orphans were taken, and where Voldemort terrorized some orphans.

A theory that I really like is the theory about Peter Pettigrew being disguised as Dumbledore. Peter owed Harry his life at the end of POA. How else would he pay him back? Dumbledore's hand was withered because as he says, from a horcrux. Maybe Peter Pettigrew drank polyjuice potion, but because he only has four fingers, maybe something went wrong, and his hand got withered. Then maybe Peter d instead of Dumbledore. This makes sense because Peter was mentioned in the beginning of the book, and J.K. Rowling must have had a good reason for mentioning it. My friend just thought of something: Dumbledore and Peter Pettigrew could have switched bos somehow. If Peter Pettigrew (disguised as Dumbledore) d, then J.K. Rowling wouldn't really be lying, because Dumbledore is , but his soul lives on in the body of Peter Pettigrew. Dumbledore could have put an extra good memory charm on Peter so that he could remember all the wise words, and everything that Dumbledore would say. I think Dumbledore's withered hand was withered because of a side-effect from the spell that allowed them to change bos. I think this theory about Peter and Dumbledore switching bos is better than the one with them drinking polyjuice potion, even though they're alike. The polyjuice potion is a bit too simple. Again, J.K. Rowling must've had a good reason for mentioning Pettigrew in that book. So maybe Pettigrew was the one who really d, and not Dumbledore. This is complicated. OOH! MAYBE FAWKES WAS TRYING TO HEAL DUMBLEDORE'S BODY WITH THE LAM!
ENTING, TO REPLACE HIS FAKE PETER PETTIGREW BODY WITH HIS REAL BODY! It makes sense doesn't it? How does J.K. Rowling come up with such a complex book? Maybe they did just use polyjuice potion. I don't know.

As you remember in Half Blood Prince Chapter#27, when Harry had frozen under his Cloack, he realized that
Dumbledore's wand was not in Dumbledore's hand, it was flying in an arc over the edge of ramparts. I wonder if a Freezing Charm continues ( i do not know if it is true word, my english level is not good ) in spite of its owner lose its control. If not, there was supposed to be
another person who knows the plan and paralysed Harry ( plan means Snape ed Dumbledore by his order). I think he should be R.A.B - Regulus A. Black. - As you know, no one see Dumbledore's wand again and - as you well know from the missing text in UK Edition - probably Dumbledore hided ( or past tense of hide ) R.A.B. for many years for
his great plan and told people he ed by Lord Voldemort - that's why Sirius knows Regulus ed by Voldemort -. I think this could be explain where the Dumbledore's wand is and who is R.A.B and how
Sirius knows Regulus ed by Voldemort

Fawkes left, signifying the of Dumbledore... Sad as it may seem he is gone, but only in body, his spirit resides forever in Hogwarts

Posted by Noelle on December 25, 2006 12:49 PM

Where does it say in the books that Fawkes left? I think last we heard, he was hanging around the castle, singing his lament...

Just read a comment that said something about Dumbledore's rantings when he drank the potion implying that he was there the night Lily and James d - which totally works with my theory of Dumbledore being bad!

Posted by Anna from Canada on December 26, 2006 09:30 AM

Harry THOUGHT he saw Fawkes flying away at Dumbledores but he wasnt sure. And it never says how dumbledores hand becomes wrinkeled. Peter Pettigrew had a missing finger MAYBE Dubledores hand is wrinkeled beacause its actually Peter and before he escaped and cut off his finger, his hand was burnt in the explosion. So if he used polyjuice potion when he turned into dumbledore his hand was burnt!

Posted by Skye from olympia,wa on December 27, 2006 09:14 AM

Skye from olympia,wa - didnt dumbledores hand become wrinkled/blackened because he destroyed the ring horcrux?
When he is telling harry about the horcrux he has destroyed he says: 'you are fogetting... you have already destroyed one of them. and i have destroyed another.'
then harry says 'you have?' and dumbledore replies,'yes indeed' then dumbledore raises his blackened burned-looking hand and says 'the ring harry. Marvolo's ring. And a terrible curse there was upon it too. Had it not been- forgive me the lack of seemly modesty- for my own prodigios s, and for professor snape's timely action when i returned to Hogwarts, desperately injured, i might not have lived to tell the tale. however, a withered hand does not seem an unreasonable exchange for a seventh of voldemorts soul.'
so it does say how he got a burnt hand, which cancels the thing about peter pettigrew, but then again you could be right and me wrong!:)

First, I would like to thank whoever started this website. I must admit that when I read that Dumbledore was , I had thoughts of suicide and they stayed with my for a week after I finished the book. Then I found this website. It saved my life. I completely agree with them. However here is my personal opinion about the series......

I believe that Dumbledore is alive, but I think he is quite weakened. I bet he is under some powerful spell to make him seem . Remember how in the second book Harry says that Dumbledore always be there as long as those who remain are loyal to him? I think there is major significance in that. I think if those in Hogwarts need him, then he come to them. I also KNOW that Harry and Ginny be together someday. And if they're not, then I am so going after him! Just kidding. I hope Ron and Hermione search deep into their hearts and find their true feelings for one another. I know that in the 7th book they snog more than ever. I can't wait for that moment in which they express their true love. Until the seventh book comes out, I reread all the books several times. I await that day.
