Dumbledore is dead... again

by David Haber

Almost exactly 4 years ago, as we all read the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince together for the first time, we experienced the death of Dumbledore, and this site became into being, as it was originally known as dumbledoreisnotdead.com. And now, with the release of the movie, we're reliving it, all over again.

But Toby Jones (Dobby's voice) is listed for DH as well as Simon McBurney (Kreacher's voice) - so why would they choose to Kreacher then? That makes no sense.

I agree that ing Kreacher would make no sense and since Toby Jones is listed, I really hope Dobby is the one that s. The Dobby/Harry connection was established a little, albeit a long time ago in the CoS film. The aunce isn't properly introduced to Kreacher in the OotP film, since he really doesn't have a role and was only included because JKR said that the film-makers would have problems in DH if they cut him. Although Kreacher might have been seen more recently, Dobby was actually shown to be someone Harry had more of a relationship with; therefore, there would be a greater emotional impact upon his .

I have read some excellent news: Harry Melling, Richard Griffiths and Fiona Shaw are definately in DH as Dudley, Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia!

Wow thank god! Hopefully the directors give them some material they can work with to make the 'goodbyes' effective. Where you get this information?

Can somebody tell me what Snape and Dumbledore talk about on the astronomy tower when Snape said "I dont want to do this anymore.. and Dumbledore said to Snape that he agreed..what they really talk about?

To Dumbledore and pretend to be in service of Voldermort... aint really hard to figure.

to Nikolas...they are talking about the plan between them for Snape to Dumbeldore that in the books we didn't find out about until the end of Deahtly Hallows (right? I don't remember that being in HBP book?) I don't know why that was put in the HBP movie, it did nothing for the movie in my opinion and would've been better for Snape's ending in the next movie. The only reason I can think of for them putting that scene in HBP movie is to make us understand why Harry trusts Snape during the scene on the astronomy tower. From hearing Snape and Dumbeldore talk maybe he's supposed to realize they have a plan and that's why he stays quiet when Snape tells him too under the tower when the Draco and the eaters are up top with Dumbeldore.

Sm, it wasnt actually in the book but remember Hagrid says i heard Snape and Dumbledore argueing outside the forest about "he doesnt want to do it anymore".

I don't know why they are so keen to Kreacher instead of Dobby. I only hope that they won't destroy the good sides of the film.

I want to know some information about ly Hallows films. In the wedding, we know Harry used polyjuice potion and transformed into a red head. Will it be seen in film? When Harry and Hermione went to Godric's Hollow, they used the potion too. Will it be shown in film?
And what about the Godric's Hollow scene, where Voldemort ed Lily and James. It was seen in Sorcerer's Stone briefly. Will it back in DH?
Actually. I didn't understand this part (I am not good in english) when I read the book. Who saw the incident, Voldemort or Harry or both?

I believe Godric's Hollow be shown - they have cast Batilda Bagshot anyway, and this is where she comes in. As for the transformations - they have shown them successfully before in at least one film (Chamber of Secrets) so I can't see why they wouldn't show it again. They are using some new equipment for the seven Potters - that's what i've read anyway.

The scenes about James' and Lily's last minutes are in Harry's head - he can see these sequences because he shares this connection with Voldemort. We see bits of it in most books but it is most prominent in the Godric's Hollow scene - as you said. In "Prisoner of Azkaban" Harry is quite badly affected by the Dementors - because they make him see his worst fears. Speaking of the "Prisoner of Azkaban " - there is something in there I don't understand at all: In his letter he sends to Harry with Pigwidgeon, Sirius writes: " I am planning to allow some Muggles to glimpse me soon, a long way from Hogwarts, so that the security on the castle be lifted." What does he mean? Why does he have to be seen by Muggles to lift what enchantment?

Posted by Siena from Nottingham, UK on September 14, 2009 10:32 AM

I agree Sienna - the transformations should be shown in DH. In an interview, Emma Watson referred to working with Helena Bonham Carter on the scene when Hermione transforms into Bellatrix.

In PoA, Hogwarts castle is heavily protected because, due to sightings and what he has been whispering in his sleep, Sirius is known to be in the area, attempting to break into Hogwarts. I think he means if he is seen a long way away from Hogwarts by muggles, the sightings be reported, and people gradually come to assume that Hogwarts is not his target, therefore some of the protection around the castle be taken down.
