Deathly Hallows sneak peek Sunday on MTV Movie Awards

It has been announced that the MTV Movie Awards pre-show will be graced with the unveiling of an exclusive new clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It is widely known that the seventh book is the darkest of the series and, as such, director David Yates has promised to deliver a more ominous, somber film.

Ok... that snippet looked very promising! Looking forward to November... though still with trepidation.

Doesn't it look like Harry's letting Hedwig fly free? Maybe she doesn't get ed then? I wouldn't mind in the least... But anyway the clip looks good, especially the fighting scene between Ron and Harry seems to be pretty intense. Beautiful landscape pictures again as well.

There was a script leak earlier in which Harry lets Hedwig fly off ahead of everyone first, so she can get to the Burrow, but she comes back. It’s implied that she flies at a Eater during the chase to protect Harry. The other fake Potters in the script don't have owls, so the Eaters recognize the real Harry and Hedwig. Of course there's no confirmation that this is absolutely true, but this script leak is from the same poster who posted accurate scripts for both OotP and HBP well before those films were released, and this clip from this teaser also seems to provide some confirmation of the script's accuracy.

I love the bit of the fight scene between Harry and Ron in the teaser - it looks so intense. There are so many great shots: I especially like the bit with the trio at the beach outside Shell Cottage (their expressions are perfect) and Harry standing at Dobby's grave. I like that we can actually see the Eater stopping the train, since it directly shows us how much has changed (or change) at Hogwarts. The Harry/ Ginny kiss looks like it's at Hogwarts before the battle. I don’t mind that it isn’t in the book because I think these films need to do more to develop their relationship and convey how important it is. This kiss looks more passionate than the one in HBP at least. My favorite line from this teaser is Voldemort's: "The boy who lived, come to ." I can't wait for these films! I love the sixth film (as well as the fifth and third), but it looks like these could be even better.

Interesting speculation about Hedwig, Anon from Arizona. I suspect she , (Yes, okay, Siena! I'll cry too!) at least if she gets ed protecting Harry, it's a strong visual change that doesn't stuff up the story. Strengthens it really. I always wondered why he didn't just let her loose in the book. Her coming back and then to save him - fabulous. There won't be a dry eye in the house. Faithful pets always get the tears going. Just think of how much everyone cried over Lassie Come Home. From this teaser I'm starting to feel quite hopeful about these movies. I was wondering how they were going to recognise Harry. In the book it's because he hesitates to hurt Stan Shunpike, but that's not going to resonate for movie goers who haven't read the books. Or just haven't been quite as obsessive as us! So using Hedwig like that is really a very clever twist. If they have Hedwig reappear shrieking out of nowhere during the chase it actually be stronger dramatically than her in the book, because it isn't accidental, and she isn't trapped. (Siena, we can cry together.)
